But this should take some of the sting out of it....

Any thoughts on the teknic chicane suits? Thinking about picking one up for trackdays, at 219 that's a steal...Also looks like they've got violator gloves up on closeout for 40 bucks, anyone know how these compare to the violator pros?

Ha...I ordered one of these last week for use during trackdays. The scheduled delivery date is tomorrow. The write-up on sizing for those particular suits has me a little worried, but I'll just have to wait and see how it fits...

Ah excellent, would you mind posting your impression of the suit when you get it? I emailed the new enough guys to see if the two piece chicane might fit me, waiting to hear back from 'em...

The teknic stuff is excellent for trackday riders and street use. For full-on racing you might want to go with something other than goat (teknic use goatskin I believe) but I used teknic boots, gloves and suit a couple of years ago and their stuff is great.

Tested the suit over a 160' drop hitting 6 trees on the way and I'm still alive so they can't be all bad.

    derek

Hey Jen, those were the pics you saw of his crash. That was a bad day, thank God Degs flew up the hill on adrenalin then passed out. Very glad Degs had full gear and a protetor on!

Hehe, I asked paul at newenough if they were getting anymore in. He said he sold out of 'em in one weekend and doesn't anticipate seeing any come back.

I guess there are lot of sportbike-riding med students!

    It's not easy being green...

I just received my suit last week. I bought the Chicane 2-pc in black. I'm 5'7" around 165lbs. so I ordered a size 42. If you are any bigger than that, I would recommend stepping it up accordingly. Teknic advertised the suit to fit up to 5'10" 175lbs. In my opinion they're nuts, unless you like the spandex look. Also the suit does not come with knee sliders. It has all the dual density armor but no pucks. $20 at the local dealer. I haven't worn the suit riding yet, but I think it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck!

I received my suit today. I purchased the Teknic one piece suit in green. I am very happy with it.
As the write-up on newenough states, the green suits run a size smaller than usual for some odd reason. Based on their recommendation, I ordered the size 48. I am 5'11" and weigh 190 pounds. (yes, I plan to lose the holiday weight I gained before spring ) It fits me just right. The chest is snug but not too tight. The stomach and hip area is a little lose, but not too lose. I am quite sure a 46 would be pretty tight on me, expecially in the chest area. (I have a big rib cage) I am glad I got the 48, as I don't want to feel squeezed in the suit. The sizing on the two piece suits are different, so be careful of that.
I give it a big thumbs up for the price and my needs. (track days)

    It's not easy being green...

Thanks for the reviews, guys. Sounds like the suit wouldn't be a good match for my 6'1" 175lb self. That's pretty much the impression I got from talking to newenough, but I appreciate the confirmation...

Well I guess it's not the most attractive suit, but the price is right and it will serve it's purpose for track day.
Any feedback from the ladies on these suits?

Roadrash is even less attractive. I've got the violator gloves. I like em, but I'd want something alittle more durable for racing.
