Anyone else get pulled over this season?

What a great way to start

I was studying all day when I decided it would be a good idea to clear my head with a short ride. It was ~6:30pm, when people were getting off the roads, and I was coming to a 4-way stop down a backroad that went through a golf course. I wasn't going that fast, and was just on a short, ride to clear my head.

I saw him approaching the 4 way stop going in the opposite direction. As he passed, I saw him give me that look and immediately execute a 3-point turn to come after me.

Not quite the rebel-type, I saw the flashing blue's and pulled right over. He said he "estimated 40 on the radar" when the road was a 30mph zone. He asked me to take off my helmet, and give him my license and registration.

After standing around for ~5 mins with may-flies swarming my head, he comes back and gives me a warning, with the message: "I'm going to give you a warning, but try and slow down. It's easy to go fast on those things."

After 4-1/2 years of driving, nearly 2 years of riding, no accidents/tickets/citations, I finally got pulled over and issued my first citation

Overal, the officer was straightforward, professional, and kind for letting me off. But yeah, I got pulled over, and got lucky (with no ticket).

How have you guys fared this season? Anyone else get bagged at the beginning of the season?

You were quite lucky! A warning isn't a citation. Just be extra careful for the next 90 days otherwise it can come back and bite you in the ass!

Last year I had incredible luck with the police. I only got one ticket and managed to beat it in court. I'm trying to stay low key this year because I like my insurance where it is!

If you told me it happened in Westford I'd be even less suprised. Sounds like an adventure a few years ago I had on Oak Hill rd. there, except I nearly got my (then F3) towed.

It's a warm weather thing, I'd pull over anyone and everyone once the weathers nice - you think they like being stuck in the cars all the time?

Sounds to me you were not speeding, or he at least DID NOT have you on the radar as he stated and wanted an excuse to make sure your papers were legit as this time of year people scoot out on the bike without there paper work in order....just my $.02.

I love it when they say "Do you know how fast you were going...?" That way they knock down what you said a few points and look like a hero the whole time they are fucking you with no KY jelly....

estimated radar means that he thought you were speeding (by sight) then through the radar on to find out. He did not estimate you were going 40 and give you a ticket based upon that guess. Thought then confirmed with radar.

I got nailed Sept 04 at 2:30 in the morning for 90 mph coming off a nasty off ramp near the Providence Place Mall, speed limit is 50, and the asshole at the bar I had just left spilt beer all over my helmet liner......

I said no, I was too busy trying figure out if you were a cop or a stranded car...

haven't been stopped since sometime last summer.

But my V1 has detected a lot of radar activity especially on back roads, mostly local LEOs, some tag team antics , watch out

somewhere back I posted a poll for predictions of the first 2005 citation...tried to search for it but couldn't find it....we have a few warnings now, a *real* ticket should be coming soon! who's gonna be the luck one?? We need a futuers market for this or someting...

I had a jackoff trying totell me he was clocking me in his rear view, i was like yeah ok.... did not help that I did not see him tell the last minute and slid by him with all four tire locked up on the Trans Am..whoops.

My speedo is broken in my car, so I've been using this radar gizmo that does these super fuzz features...... Kustom Hawk. remote control, cook popcorn microwave output etc..........

If you EVER get a ticket in moving mode, ODDS are its crap. I've been doing this for two weeks now and wind, rain, conditions, In addition to the defroster make all kinds of erroneous readings.
Blank speed readings too. JA readings on hold. Jamming? BS.

Same direction traffic going 80 when I'm passing them at 73 MPH.

Its critical the conditions, antenna placement, electrics (alternator whine) etc........

I'm floored how much junk this thing receives.
38 when I'm going 30, so in moving mode the other direction "prep" gets 8 MPH added to their speed.

Moving mode and Laser should be outlawed.............

I got stopped in December. (I was on my way to the airport to see The Patriots lose to Miami )The cop was in the breakdown lane and I was in the Left passing lane doing about 74mph in a 65. I couldn't pull back in because a Ford Explorer was passing me in the middle lane.
After he passed me I pulled in. Then I see the trooper pull out. I figured he was after the Explorer and he pulls me over.
He said I was going 85mph. I said I wasn't and I was even being passed by that green Explorer on the right. He said "oh I got him too" so I said "Then why did you pull me over if he was passing me?" He asked me how fast I was going and I said around 74. He told me to get my speedometer checked and let me go. I said you should stop the right car next time. I know the reason he let me go was he realized I was right.
