    Emergency

Anyone near Gloucester with a spare motorcycle tire. My Brother in law is stranded up there now with a flat on his 2001 Katana. If not, does anyone know any place close by that's open or would have a tire for the bike?

    Any help would be appreciated!!

Size would be nice to know ...

Most dealers do have some stock on hand, might not be exactly what he is looking for.

Problem is he's on the side of the road and no dealers are open in the area (at least that I can find on the internet search), just didn't know if someone was on this forum who lives around there and might know of someone or place nearby? Couldn't hurt to try.

Taunton???? Are you shitting me? I would have picked him up and brought him back. I live in taunton. I could have plugged the tire for him also.

Why oh why oh why fix-a-flat? It makes a total mess inside the rim, throws off balance and doesn't always work. A $4 plug kit from pep boys works every time and can be done roadside.

I was gonna help out but when I saw Gloucester I thought someone else would be able to tow him. If I knew he lived in taunton I would have gone and picked him up.

Anyhoo, if he wants it cleaned out and plugged i can do that for him. If he wants a new tire I can do that also.

    derek

Derek: As usual, from what I've seen and heard, your generosity and dedication to fellow motorcyclsts is unquestionable. Even though you weren't able to help I appreciate the thought. If there's anything I can ever do for you (within my capabilities and expertise) please don't hesitate to ask.

    Mark,

Ps: 5000 more miles from now the 1098 and myself will be knocking on your door for that valve job we discussed.....ha......how much were you charging again??

Heh heh, I gotta do some research as I don't know if the shims for the 1098 are the same as the 999 ones. Probably not, which means buying a new shim kit $big $$$.

We'll talk about cost nearer the time. Gotta see what any special tools cost me. I'll give you an up-front price though.
