Would be nice if the RI hosted another round of the trials championship. Those guys were on another level of skill.

The nationals are scheduled to come in June of 2023. FIM is usually every 8-10 years

Trying to remember where it was in RI. Wasn't well advertised. Think it was in Exeter RI in 2015. Recall seeing Toni Bou. Unbelievable talent. I have photos and video somewhere. Everybody (including the other riders) would just sit there and shake their heads at what this guy could do.
Please remind us as it gets closer. Would gladly meet up with forum members to watch this again.

Escoheag RI which is part of Exeter RI off route 165. The only public land where it’s legal to ride a dirt bike but must be a trials bike. Fun fact R I hosted its only MX National just down the road at Pine Top ski area in 1978. No more MX. No more ski area.

I’ve never heard it called pine top, my grand parents took my sister and I sledding/skiing there in 1977/1978, one of our Family pictures of us was with a Mount Tom ski area sign in the background.

    Re: Enduro and Trials riding

way WAY back in the late 80's I did my 1st Mtn bike race in Arcadia, The Pine Top Cross Country, it was a rainy muddy day.....

P.S.: not nationals, but they seem to have "local" trials events at Escoheag fairly often, I ride past the lot on my way home and see LARGE groups there several times per year.

Are you sure the pic wasn’t taken in Holyoke, MA? Mount Tom is still there, but no longer open as a ski hill.

There is a Mt. Tom in Arcadia (Exeter), and a Mt. Tom trail. IIRC from my mountain biking days it was overlooking Rte 165.

    From: https://www.newenglandskihistory.com...nd/pinetop.php

Pine Top Ski Area, located on Escoheag Hill near West Greenwich, opened for the 1965-66 ski season. With two T-Bar lifts and an advertised parking capacity of 1,200 cars, Pine Top was rumored to be the most popular ski area in Rhode Island during its heyday. The ski area featured snowmaking and night skiing.

Due in part to poor snow years, Pine Top went into a period of decline in the late 1970s. An unsuccessful attempt was made to operate a summertime motorcycle park, in hopes to boost revenues.
Pine Top likely closed in 1980. The base lodge was burned by vandals in the early to mid 1980s.
