    precisely why i keep my eyes glued to my mirrors and leave the bike in gear untill i see a car stop behind me.

    Excellent advise Oreo.. I too keep an eye in the mirror, but never thought about the leaving the bike in gear till a car stops behind me.. +1

    Need eyes in the back of your head

    They should have told you to leave the bike in gear in your MSF class (if you took it).

    Also line up near the edge of the lane so if you're hit you get thrown forward as opposed to crushed between 2 cars.

    And also either:

    a) Get a brake light flasher
    b) Manually flash the brake light when a car is coming to a stop behind you until you are sure they see you and are stopping in time

    I used to have a co-worker who got totally stomped by a car at a stoplight.. lots and lots of broken bones. He was probably insane but I'm not sure if that was from the MC accident or not..

    That would be a no , i've had my license over 10 years ... But i do intend on taking it next year .. I've heard great things about from people that have been riding 20+ years..

    Need eyes in the back of your head

    I've been riding since '92 and have taken MSF courses 3 times since then. They are great refreshers. I'll probably do it again in the future, did I mention they are fun to take?
