    f3+f4i subframes

for you older cbr pro's, can you tell me if the subframes on the 600f3s are the same as the ones on the f4i with the split seat? i believe the ones with the split seat are from 01-03? ive seen a few people swap the tail from an f4i to an f3 but none mentioned anything about the subframes. just wondering if the plastic will swap cleanly or if i will have to make a new subframe.

You can pick up a perfect condition f4i subframe for about $100 on ebay. That would be the route I would go if I were you.

i see, so the f4i subframe will bolt up to the f3? i must have misunderstood you for saying that the frame wont bolt up.

also i think 01-03 had the split seat and after that they went back to the fat banana seat. Are all the f4i subframes the same or do i need to find a subframe within the split seat years?

I believe some customization is required. I was looking into this when I had my F2(same frame/subframe as your bike) and there was some welding required. Let me look back on the cbr forum I was on. I know there's a "how to" writeup somewhere
