I didn't know him, but rest in peace Mark. This is minutes from where I live, and this guy is the same age I am, so it really hit close to home.

    RIP

Sounds like it may have been his fault but nobody will ever know for sure?

Either way it's sad to hear. What a terrible loss to his friends and family. My thoughts go out to them..

Looks like another incident where the car makes a left in front of the bike. Of course they point out "excessive" speed, leaving all blame on the biker. Wonder how excessive he was riding.

I found out about this when I was at Tibby's HD getting my bike inspected. I was shooting the shit with one of the employees when he walked outside to see "what kind of rocketship I was on". When he saw it was a GSXR he mentioned the kid who crashed. I guess he was on a GSXR1000 and doing about 100mph.

Doing 100mph on Page Blvd is completly stupid and irresponsible. It's a very busy boulevard and I believe the limit is 40mph. Have he been going slower, he might have avoided the accident. And at 5:30 pm, the Blvd is full of traffic...it's a luck he didn't take out anyone else with him...The fact is, I'm sure most of us have done "stupid and irresponsible" stuff while riding, myself included. So it's really sad to hear that he didn't make it out of this one.

    RIP Mark...

Yup.. The article about this on masslive today says the State Police estimated his speed to be about 65-70. So the HD guy was exagerating a bit. Either way, we all get stupid sometimes like you said, and every time we do its kinda like playing Russian Roullette.

Hmmm...thanks for that new bit of info John...from what you told me yesterday I had a hard time believing the guy could have gone at 100mph during rush hour on that Blvd...still 65-70 is highway speed...but not what I would consider "excessive". Seems like he might not have suffered if he was unconscious at the scene.

I don't Know who was wrong or right here, but keep in mind there is a time and place for speed, and when you hit a Car with Kids in it is not the place..I have 2 little ones.. and like i said i don't know who was at fault but someone was not thinking about the kids in the car.. Either way Death is not a just punishment for Stupidity or most of would already be dead..
