Unbelievable....I keep lookin' for an underdog to cheer on in hopes of displacing Val (not that I don't care for the guy, I just like to see 'em all mix it up)......and then they come, and then they go....

Can't dispute he's an unreal rider with an unreal crew.

I used to like him but now I'm just getting sick of him and want someone to beat him.

The "bump" was not cool IMO and he's just getting obnoxious.

Yep, wanted him displaced last year. nope. This year....doesn't look like it either...but of course we got a ways to go. I'm hoping for home turf superiority at LS (who isn't).... That melanri kid doesn't look too bad..seems to be taking things rather decently.... Gib seemed ready to go, but then he got all weirded out....Rossi's now smug...but he's just a kid.

Funny how being a TV spectator can get your illusion of reality all buggered up....kinda like watchin' stocks all day. T'be honest, I really dunno shit about these guys....just what they do for one hour every other Sunday.

Rossi is still wicked young right?

It totally seems like he could win another 5 championships in a row or something unless he gets hurt.

He really does seem WAY better than everyone else.

Hopkins, Hayden, Melandri and Roberts Jr., even Edwards all show flashes of brilliance, but Rossi ALWAYS finds a way to win. Say or think what you will about him, but he can ride the wheels off of just about any motorcycle. He just makes it look too easy, like he's not even working hard.

I'd love to see Hopkins come out with a few victories... but it just doesn't look like it's gonna happen. Rossi is just unbelievable!

If you saw the first two races in particular, Honda has their bike dialed in totally. It ran hard, fast and smooth.

But, if F1 is 90% car, MotoGP is 90% rider. (Not that either is accurate, it's the analogy that counts) Rossi is smart, and he obviously is constantly thinking the whole time he is riding. He plans the attack for the most part.

The odd thing to me is his youth shows through now and again, for he'll blow a corner and run wide, just after he seems to have it all together.

Sete just doesn't seem to have the ability to go balls out when he needs too. Once the pace is set he either holds on, or falls back....no stepping up to the plate.

I'd like to see Hopkins work up, Edwards work up, Melandri....but I don't see Rossi getting bumped this year. Olivi Jacque (sp?) is a hell of wet rider, we'll see if he stays around for a dry track.

    pb.

Workload for sale. Job sale possibility. Caretaker needed for housework and entertaining kids. I need some time back.

A steady job and a family has ruined many a good biker.

Racers often say that rain is the great equalizer. Olivier Jacque rode one hell of an excellent wet weather race, after not having been on a racing bike for 8 months. And, this S.O.B comes in on a fire-breathing, 240hp machine, that has a reputation for being one the most ill-handling bikes on the grid and brings it home in 2nd!!!!!!!!!! He used to race for one of the satellite 500 teams and last raced with one of the Yamaha 4 stroke teams. He never seemed to have the greatest results, but he looked fantastic on Sunday. If there were 5 more laps, he would have caught Rossi.

It will be interesting to see how he does in a dry race. The Kawasaki does seem to fade as the race wears on, in some cases. So, maybe the engineers learned something during the second place rain finish....like, fitting some larger radiators on the bike to help it run a bit cooler.

I would really love to see either Hopkins or KRJr get a podium, or two, this season. The Suzuki seems to have their reliability problems, which is sorta strange because they do so well in Superbike.

I think Edwards should see a few podium finishes before the season's end. I just read an article where he said that he and Rossi have identical setups on their bikes, minus a few tiny details. He is making no excuses this year because he is getting the same parts as Rossi.

Hayden really needs a win or two. He will have a future in GPs, regardless of whether or not Honda retains him after his contract expires, this year. But, he really needs to win in order to firmly establish himself.

So, there is my early season report.....

Sorry to ramble, but I LOVE MOTOGP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, although it can get a bit korny with all the hype (nuthin' like F1 though), those machines are like no other and riders are smooth.

I wish they'd do better with the coverage though...you rarely ever see battles other than top-3....I was watching the races at Barber recently and it seemed they were covering the battles in all kinds of places....it was well done (relatively).

Do they cover all the AMA races that well or does it vary from circuit to circuit?

I was impressed. GP's the only series I follow and although it's good I definitely get frustrated with the provincial race coverage. Those races at Barber were really gritty though...I may have to expand my own coverage....

    Cheers
