Maybe that's the cost of repairing the guardrail and asfault?

Shit... I gotta go look at the burn marks.. this is RIGHT near my apartment. I went part of the way around the ramp just now on the way into work but didn't see it.

They must have been going WAY fast. The article says they were exiting 128 onto the rotary... both those ramps are essentially straight...

Glad to hear they're alright, and it's fantastic that one rider pulled the other one to safety.

But do you think the first rider took the turn too hot?

I gotta go look but too hot on either of those = probably triple digit speeds if the article is right and they were entering the rotary.

Considering 3AM it's gotta be more like one guy started to fall asleep or something.

The tightest portion of the rotary can easily be done over 60mph without hanging off or being in any danger of scraping peg feelers.

doesn't look as fun as the 128/rt 2 cloverleaf but it looks like they coulda been bombin around on this. where's the rotary?

My reading of the article is they either crashed on the southbound exit into the rotary or the northbound one.

The southbound one is up at the top of the picture, the northbound one is the dead straight portion on the lower right in the picture. When I get off in either direction I almost never brake for those two ramps, I just slow down when I enter into the traffic.

It's not a regular rotary. You can see the are two entrances to the highway in each direction from the rotary. The tightest portion is down in the lower left.. but that is still easily done at 60+.

The main thing that is dangerous is both the tight area in the lower left & the section up on the upper right are totally blind.

The most fun part IMO is the northern of the two entrances onto 128S. You get 2 lefts and a right out of it, but you still easily hit 100 on the ramp and have to slam on the brakes before merging into traffic. The first right is off camber.

This is actually smaller then the 128/2 cloverleaf. But probably more dangerous. Trees, bushes, guardrails, etc.. everywhere.
