may be a silly question but...

when you work out prices with a dealer and you agree on an "out the door" price...what exactly does this include?

I've settled on an OTD price with a dealer for a new bike now does that mean registration fees included? (ie he'll be picking up the plates for me) and do i still go get it inspected myself? i'm sorry if this is a total noobtacular question this is my first big investment and i've just never purchased anything this brand new before

OTD is usually all dealer fees included. You still have to pay for the title and reg.

Edit: I have heard of some dealers paying for the title and others don't. I think MA titles are $50?

Depends on the dealer. Usually the buyer is responsible for tax, title, & reg separately (well, no tax in NH).

Out the door is the bike's price, plus any prep and shipping charges.

Join a good credit union. That's how I got the loan for my truck with my crappy credit but I still got a good interest rate. I'm not really a fan of naked bikes but I like it in white

All dealer costs. You are responsible for sales tax, title and plates.

When I buy in the state I live in, all prices I have ever negotiated have been for me to throw a leg over it and ride..ALL fees included, tax, title, registration, ETC. In RI, most dealers take care of all that crap for you, at least Razee's has always done it for me.
Out of state bike purchases OTD is just to take the bike home with me, I pay the tax and registration myself...though if I remember correctly the good folks at Columbia Motorsports in Ct (Scott has given me the best deals I've ever gotten on bikes) did register my 06 R6 for me

Re: may be a silly question but...

This guy has bought more bikes than the entire state of RI, so I'd take it from him.

But when I bought (cars) in Ma. OTD means I show up and it's got plates on it, inspected, and the check writing is done for.

In NH (where they can't do any of that shit for me) it means how much to put the shit on a flatbed or in my truck, so I can go register it.

Check with DCU. I just got a loan on a used bike for under 5% from them. And if I setup automatic withdrawal(or was it direct deposit?) they knock off another 1/2 percent.

Always brake mid-corner. If you can't ride it, say there's something wrong with it.

    Oh, and wear these:

I remember when I was little, my aunt worked for a tee shirt printer, and Razee's had some shirts printed up. She made some extras for me and my brother since our last name is Razee. No relation unfortunately, family discounts would be nice

So did you get the bike? I've been looking at the FZ1 for a second bike. I want something more upright for longer rides I go on.

The GSX-R (Not GIXXAH) gets a little uncomfortable after 200-300 miles.

+1 on DCU. Awesome credit union, I've got nothing but praise for them.

EDIT: and I'm fairly certain it's automatic withdrawal that reduces your interest rate.

Why didn't you simply ask the dealer what 'out the door' meant? Seems like a pretty quick and reliable way to get your answer. Ya know, asking them...
