    it finally hit home...

I just heard that one of my friend's little brother was killed on his motorcycle last night.

It was one of those scenarios where, last year, the mother absolutely forbid him from getting one, and hates every second that he had it. But his father had a harley, sister liked riding on the back of her bf's bike, and he was old enough to make his own decisions. I'm not quite clear on the details, but my friend said he was on his R6 and was going ~40mph when a T-bone accident involving another car going ~40 killed him instantly.

Now iI've heard of plenty of crashes and read about the deaths posted here on NESR, but this one finally hit home. I mean, this is the first time I've been connected personally to the accident. I can just remember hearing about how he got this bike last year, and how his sister had mixed feelings about it, but since her bf and I ride, she'd been supporting her brother this whole time. I can't imagine how much pain she (and her family) must be going through and I just hope they don't blame themselves over this. Please keep her family and close friends in your prayers tonight.

And please watch over your close friends and family too...you never know what could happen.

    May he rest in peace...

It is never easy when it hits home. I had a hard time getting back into the saddle after a good friend lost his life last spring.

Was this the kid from Holliston who crashed in Millis?
I worked with one of the fireman today who responded last night if it was. I did hear some of the details that led up to that crash. Not pretty.

RIP to the fallen rider. Lots of "can't stop in time" this year, my own get-off included. It doesn't really matter who's fault or who has the right-of-way. We all need to learn from these postings and be prepared to stop a lot shorter. Roads are becoming more crowded and driver distractions are a lot more prevalent making this unfortunate trend endanger all of us.

    Bhavesh,
Only a couple of degrees of separation... Kevin was one of my cousin's good friends... He was leaving their house when it happened and they were first on the scene. I was at a wedding with him just the weekend before last. Really sad. I don't have any more details, and I don't plan on asking any questions any time soon. Man, this sucks.
