Well, I'm thinking about suspension today. I was reading racetech's website, and the whole gold valve thing seems like a pretty sweet deal. Any of you guys have experience with that sort of thing? I mean, it'd be nice to replace the rear shock all together, but there's no way I'm dropping $1000 on that right now. They also mention changing the springs. Is this something I need to do? I know for cars, at least, springs pretty much never really go bad, you just upgrade to stiffer ones if you want to. It seems to me that a sportbike probably comes with pretty stiff springs to begin with. Am I wrong? Ride harshness isn't a big deal to me (I mean, within reason) My car is riding on some pretty stiff springs/shocks and I don't mind the harshness at all, so I imagine the same would be true with the bike.
I guess, in case you couldn't tell, I'm just kinda fishing for general bike suspension information/options, because I don't think that my bike (a 93 GSXR 750) handles as well as it should, and people keep telling me that the stock suspension just doesn't last very long (I have about 25K miles on the bike). So, any general info/advice/help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.
