We were talking about a hand signal the last ride. Its not the "designated" signal for the group but it is one our other group uses and its much easier to see from a distance even in your mirror. If a rider is banging his fist on the top his head it means "Hey shithead, turn your fucking blinker off!" That is the agreed upon literal translation among the group anyway and we sure had plenty of occasions to use it the other day!

Have heard of [and used] the hand tapping helmet signal to warn oncoming riders of speed traps. Left hand opening & closing is often used to tell a rider his blinker is still on, but every gang has thier signals...

When I was down south the head tap was for speed traps or cops in the area. Same for the turn signal, Open/close hand.

I saw Mark tap his head when Mick tried to pass a car on a solid yellow line and I thought it means he's crazy.

    Signals I have learned:

The head tap indicates a cop.

Open and closing your fist means; your blinker is on.

Extending your "pee" leg means a hazard on this side.

Twirling your pointer finger while pointing to the ground on any given side means; pass me this side.

To signal a rider ahead of you, flash your high beams on and off.

This group only: giving the finger means: "Hi, how are you, I am fine thanks."

...and one I learned on the last ride:

left hand waving in front of the face means "boy, that manure left behind from the tractor tires sure is fragrant!"

Only a fuckin' idiot would pass on a double yellow. Are we a little sensitive about this?

Tapping the side of your head means WTF!

Either that it means "Trying to plug up the hole your brains are oozing out of......"

It was the fact that Mick had a clean shot, it was the guy behind him that was attempting to play "Car Jousting"

In that case, I'll pipe in as a dummy-striker:

Pass when it's SAFE. Safe from traffic, Safe from nailing one of your bud's, and Safe from the Cops because I'm sick of seeing that all these fucking road workers keep connecting the dashes with way to much paint on the road and I ain't gonna let them get in the way of a good ride!

On a lighter note, "Doble Linea" was one of the first phrases I learned in Spanish a while back while on a surf trip to Panama.
They had a long stretch of road on Pan-Am highway that had a very faint worn yellow line. There was always some slow poke (I think he was on the local police payroll) and I'd get too frustrated and pass. Of course there was a cop hiding at the perfect spot to catch me passing. I payed many 10-20 dollar bribes to keep my ass on the street for that fucking "Doble Linea".

    Hey Zombie,
You are correct sir! I am talking out of my ass. But then again I did get a reaction didn't I? Relax guy, None of us abide by the law all of the time. I'm sure a lot of us have even seen the inside of the lock up one time or another! The best thing to do when someone is annoying you is not say anything, And then they go away! Yea I like the old Henry, But I do like the old Black Flag music better, Rollins Band is kind of boring,Henry is rockin'
Peace Zombie man, All in good fun.
