Need forks that would work on a '91 Katana (600). Help! Price for parts/install/how soon it could be done, etc.
Trying to decide if its worth the $ to replace considering the bike has other ailments as well....like only shifting into 3rd when it feels like it, leaking oil like the exxon valdez, etc.
Thanks!
Why do you need the forks? Did I miss something?

When can it be delivered?
No payments until 2020? Awesome! Its a deal! lol
wet road + oil + pavement = new forks

I've driven by that Katana in Leominster a few times and I've never seen anyone actually riding it, and it looks like it's in the way where it currently is...just adding to your hand if you decide to start negotiatingThough 35k...yeek.
Sucks to hear about the forks, but I have to say I've seen some of the other gripes you've had about the machine and I'd say unless you absolutely can't swing it - maybe it's time for something different and newer.
That 98 kat looks like its in good shape from the pics of course 16k is nothing and 1500 isn't a bad price for any bike that runs in good shape. I'm sure someone here would be willing to go with you to check it out or any bike for that matter. fwiw I'm off work this week so I've got some free time if you wanna go shopping.
Hit up the GSTwins forums, they consider Kat forks upgrades for the lil GS so they are always hunting them down.
I have some GSXR1100 forks that would slide into the triples, but they would be a pain in the balls to get everything sorted out.

those 1100 forks would go in those triples???? they are pretty small...
I say ebay, probably not the quickest, but to buy a set and drop them in wouldn't be the best idea... really should at least pull them apart, clean them up and do some freash oil in them...
If you weren't so far away I'd offer to install them and all that for free provided you paid for the part (ebay or just get new wipers and seals), but I'm in Burlington VT so that might be a hike. Typically they aren't very hard to rebuild. Usually a lot cheaper to rebuild too....so +1 for scubasteve's comment.
