Why is that the cops fault? He robbed the bank, said he had a grenade and took hostages. A very good point was also raised by the journalist, after the heightened alert against terror activity, not a good time to do that. Many police in foregin countries do not mess around! Maybe if people had more consequences, they wouldn't do things to harm and terrorize others? I don't feel bad for him.

The guy robbed a bank and put peoples lives in danger. That is not cool. However, the manner in which the cops delivered "justice" is also not cool. They could have stopped that bike in so many different ways w/o the need for such a brutal outcome. moreover, the BIKE didn't need to go out like that.

I don't know how you stop a bike without causing the rider to crash... really.

It is not like a car where they can just spin the guy out or puncture his tires with a possible safe ending.

Either he was going to get away, or he was going to get taken out. If they let him get away or just followed him he might have taken other innocent people out.

Ah.. How is that going to work? He's either going to sneak through the road block, go around it on the side of the road, or pull a quick u-turn in the road and take off the other way.

If the rider is good it's going to be really freakin hard to stop him without taking him out.

Anyone who just robbed a bank is NOT going to just decide to pull over for a road block.

When you've robbed a bank, are holding hostages and are demanding the police supply drugs and an R1, you're pretty well fucked.

They could have used a dolphin-safe net to catch him, but on the other hand I don't think he'll be robbing any more banks anytime soon.

Funny though, given Spain doesn't have the death penalty (at least after you've been caught!)

If there's 1 thing they could have done differently, it would have been not to handcuff him by his broken wrists and drag his ass into the back of a squad car. (Although that definately makes the even more video funny)

Fuck him. I say that that video showed perfectly choreographed poetic justice in the most beautiful way. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the instant justice they gave this dickhead.....about 10 times in a row.

I think you might have a different line on this had YOU or someone you love been one of the hostages that were taken and most likely threatened with death if they didn't comply with this loser. Zippy got off easy as far as I'm concerned.
