I finally had all my parts and spent the better part of the weekend wrenching on the bike. Decided to post some pics and a general review. If anyone is doing something similar and needs help let me know.
Here's all that I did:
Ti headers + muffler
PC III
Remove O2 sensor
Oil change
Brake pressure switch (to activate light so I can finally pass inspection)
Steering damper
Stomp grip
HIDs (DDM tuning)
Interestingly, the thing that took me the longest was the oil filter that was on too tight. Fellow member came over to lend a tool which got it right off, but I had tried everything- including the screwdriver trick which led me to snapping my screwdriver.
Took the bike out for a ride tonight once it was ride-able, feels amazing with the new headers/exhaust and the HIDs are awesome at night. I used a random headers and exhaust map that I downloaded from the Dynojet site, loaded it on via USB. Exhaust note is very deep and rich, much better than just a slip on- bike is much more responsive throttle-wise and feels more agile without those 15+ pounds under the bike.
Will get "finished" pics once the plastics are on, for now here are the pics I took while working on the bike:
HIDs- this was before I tucked the wiring and ballasts, found some nice spots under the plastic inserts on both sides (will add those pics later):
Exhaust before:
Exhaust after:
Removing stock system:
Installing new system:
(5 pounds, most of it is at the flanges)
PCIII, O2 sensor removal, and oil changing
That's it for now. If anyone is planning on doing any of these mods and has any questions let me know, also willing to help.
