    Need some FZ1 info

Hey all, looking for those who have a non-inverted forks FZ1 (or maybe even inverted). I need some dimensions off the front rim if you have a few minutes? Some high res pics would be great of each side too..

Also, how does the speedometer get its erading on these bikes, i was looking at an '02 micro fiche and it doesn't show a speedo gear on the front wheel, is it electrical? If so do any FZ1s have mechanical speedos?

    1. height and width of the rim.
    2. width between the inside of each rotor.
    3. Rotor diameter
    4. bolt pattern for rotors
    5. bolt pattern diameter

and if you happen to have the wheel off:
    6. axle size
    7. OD of the bearings or ID of the hub where the bearings go.

    thanks!

You want USD forks or not?

    2001 - 2005 have conventional forks

2006 - present have USD forks

Speedo is read off the transmission output shaft. All FZ1's have electrical tach and speedo.

The other stuff requires a rim present and whether or not your application requires USD forks or not.

ah okay so the speedo is electrical good to know.

also i'd be dealing with convensional forks, but didn't know of the USD wheel (if different) would work better for my potential application.

I have a '07 R1 front rim (no tire mounted) if you want to borrow it for measurements. Its the same rim used in the GenII FZ1. Also have the R1 axle - looks a bit different than the FZ1 but diameter & length will be the same. Let me know and I'll bring them into work.

Pretty sure GenII FZ1 rotors were 320mm. I think that the R1 radial forks required caliper spacers if using the FZ1 rotors.

    1. 17"x about 4 should find that in a fiche
    2. 128
    3. 300 but tough to say exact with the wheel on
    4. 6 bolt
    5. 150 center to center

I can get more/better measurements this weekend if you'd like.

Those specs Wishbone gave are from a GenI. And yeah, you're right that 298mm is the exact brake rotor size.

I should have my Gen 2 FZ1 next week (08). You're welcome to measure anything you need to on it.
