Garmin Zumo 660 Discount

So I just realized with my AMA discount, the 660 is 20% off so $639.99 + 8$ for shipping. Garmin is still getting their seedstock out there, but indicates a 2-3 week lead on their site: www.garmin.com/ama

According to someone else I asked, they reported employee cost on the unit is 649.99$. If true...this is a decent deal, you should jump on it now Bruce so I can see if I need to sell my 550

Ah ok, it sounded like it would be awhile till they got them, and then a bit longer till they honored the price or something...sounded odd. It will be cool when you get it though, post up so I can know what I'm missing

They couldnt tell me when it was going to ship so I cancelled. It sounded like they were fullfilling the full price sales amd waiting to sell the discounted ones so I just said forget about it for now.

I had one in my shopping cart at garmin.com with the AMA discount price, but it is gone now and there no longer seems to be a way of buying a 660 from the site. I can buy a 550 (there is an "add to cart"), but the for the 660 it just points me to retail stores.

I believe the items leave your cart if you leave the site. I am suspecting they stopped selling them to employees and ama folks until regular dealer networks are satisfied. There are still alot of Garmin authorized retailers out there that have no idea when their 660's will (really) arrive when I asked.

I do know someone that ordered one from Garmin April 20th and received it May 10, not a bad turnaround.
