It's not the riders fault he died.

The motorcycle made it across the bridge, so clearly if the gate had been designed to safely break away when hit, the rider would still be alive. The bridge was still low enough to jump yet this poor man has lost his life do to greedy corporations that decided to cut cost by not making these gates safer.

Good point, we should set up a class action lawsuit for foam/rubber gates.

Exactly! The company that manufactured the gate and the state that owned the bridge are liable. The poor guy woulda been fine if the gate had been properly designed with a motorcyclist's safety in mind.

Re: One less in the gene pool....

Funny part is the fact I read the headline, and figured "wow, this should be cool, he must have gone out like Evel Kinevel or something". The fact is he didn't even make it to the bridge, well maybe part of his helmetless head did..

    What?
I think we all know why. But this guy was going to do it without a helmet.
    Genius people. Pure genius.

Re: One less in the gene pool....

He's obviously a noob and died because of it since he misjudged his speed and the drop rate of the gate. I would have jumped off the bike, over the gate, and landed back on the bike for a grand finale leap over the bridge. It can't get any simpler.... Oh I'd then use my rear brake and slide sideways to a stop to welcome all of these chicks wearing daisy dukes running to me.
