Getting a little bling bling on your bike

I was curious to know if anyone on here has gotten their rims chrome plated.

I've done a bunch of performance upgrades on my bike, and now i'm starting to lean towards doing some visual upgrades.

Just curious to know how much something like that runs you. I'm guessing around $500-$700.

Spend some money to make your rims lighter, not heavier.

I might chrome or powdercoat my rims. just so I don't have to wipe the dirt off.

Performance difference with powder or chrome = non existant to anyone on this messageboard that rides.

I second Bruce on this one. You can get some beautiful aftermarket rims that are lighter then your current rims and for anyone who knows what to look at on a bike will know the aftermarket rims are a great upgrade (bling bling as you say). They do cost more then chroming though.

All the aftermarket rims I've seen are at least $1500 -> $2000. And you will get no performance gain, unless you paint your bike the faster red color and use a lot of performance related stickers.

you don't need suspension work, just get a GMD sticker.

Granted, I reached deep into the bank account for this after-market part and bling-plating, but those of you who have a bigger bank-roll should be able to do it for damn cheap. Remeber this bling-thread everyone?

I bling'd out my 9 with a plastic bobble head Shrek figurine on top of my brake fluid reservoir but someone broke it off. No it's just plastic feet stuck to the cap. It's very sad and I'm done with bling.
