    Which one?

I think i have narrowed it down to a couple of jackets...let me know what you guys think.

Please vote then explain why. I like the A* one but it is bit pricey. I like the JR one because it is pef'd in the sleeves, and is cheaper but it isnt CE armor.. The vanson..is well...a vanson. I plan to check out what they have this weekend. Vanson is also $$ and ugly as hell...

Im a little partial to the Alpinestar only because i have the same jacket, Great fit, easy to move in, the armors are great and they stay were there supposed to be [no twisting] CE which is a must. The perferated front works great never have a problem in the summer. Nice Jacket.

Thats a good question, i have so many other jackets that i wear i have never had to wear that one in the cold. I have other jackets with alot less perforations so i have'nt even wore that when its cold. Alpinestar makes great stuff i would imagine you'll be ok,...Just looked at the liner its quilted not that thin wind breaker nylon.
Sizes run true to form, if you take 48 you'll fit there 48 although the fit is more on the athetic side tapers down at the waste [not saying you need to lay off the beers or anything] but i have a little gut myself so its a little snug in the stomach area. I like my jackets a little snug in case i go down i want all the armor to stay were they should. To loose and the armors all over the place. I see alot of those squids wearing jackets 2or3 sizes to big trying to look cool with the baggy clothes. Dont work for me. All and All its a nice jacket. Well good luck Bud

Vanson - support local companies. Plus, if anything fucks up, it's easier to drive 30 minutes to Fall River than 3000 miles to California.

    Which one?

I voted A* just because I like the look, quality, price combination.

What about some Spidi stuff? A friend bought the Spidi 7 jacket on closeout from newenough and it's a nice jacket. It's not perfed though...

I ended up going with textile for the summer... even perfed leather was too hot for commuting traffic.

I reach for my Rev'It jacket more than anything else in the closet when it's time to ride.

    Which one?

a* gets my vote. The stage is a much better version of my 2-peice suit (P1 is the name). Mines is non-perfed which i wear straight through summer/fall.

Stitching has always been topnotch with a*'s from what i've seen first hand. Though i haven't had the honor to crash test mines on asphalt, only on the grass/dirt on turn 11 (or was it 10?) at louden.

    Which one?

Given the three options I think Id go with the alpinestar.

I know Vansons makes very nice stuff but the one thing I dont really like is the three zipper system. I prefer the one zipper that goes completely around. You could always get the single zipper put in later. I had to do that with my jacket to match it up to my pants.

As for the joerocket. They make nice stuff too but the elastic sleeve adjusters? Not exactly sure where they place those but if its on the wrist it just screams pull me up your arms when your sliding down the road. Its not that anyone expects to fall but it happens and it just seems to me one more thing that could be better.

Also if you do need your stuff repaired Im sure you could bring any brand to vansons to get it fixed. They still make a few bucks of the repairs. Im sure they would rather fix their own stuff but I cant see why they would refuse to fix any other brand as well.
