    Laverda - opinions?

Has anybody on here had any experience with Laverda? I found this on e-bay, and I think I want one.

Do they even import them in to the US anymore?

    Laverda - opinions?

I sat on one once at MOM, a 750 parallel twin (strike?) IIRC, the suspension felt real good just sitting on it, can't tell you much else

    Laverda - opinions?

From the little bit I gather, Laverda motorcycles have been around for a while, but they are a typical Italian manufacturer - they make really cool stuff, but cant seem to make any money at it, and end up getting passed around larger companies.

I just wondered if anyone knew anything about reliability and parts availability, or maybe had owned one before.

    Laverda - opinions?

Galen at bikeworx in Maynard was a laverda dealer for a while. He'd be the one to ask about parts availability, maintainence, etc.

Definitely cool looking bikes. Galen told me they handle nicely. I think for the "different" factor, they are interesting. If you want to compare performance stats w/ japanese bikes, they will not win.

I believe Seacoast Sport Cycle in Windhm, NH used to service and sell them as well. Jesse would be able to tellyou parts availability I am sure.

Thanks, I'll give that fellow a call.

The more I read about them, the more interesting of a bike they seem. Good performace, seemingly on par with Ducs, but with some interesting quirks as well.

    Laverda - opinions?

I've ridden with this other guy Tim who lives in Burlington and he has a couple of them.
He is a real afficinado when it comes to the Italian bikes.
Meet him years ago at the top of 17 of all things.
I'll have to look up his # for you.
He always has a couple of older exotic Italians he is will to part with, but they aren't usually cheap.
The link to what you where looking at has been pulled, so I don't know what the deal was.
