    Gloves and back protector

Well I'm in the market for some new gloves and a back protector.

So far I've gotten my search to komodo meso or fx-r gloves and a knox aegis back protector. Does anyone have experience with these or alternatives which might be worth looking into?

I used Held gloves with great results. Had two pairs. Comfortable from the start and they crash well. Just bought a set of Kusitanis. Probably wont get to ride those until next season but build quality looks great. Neither brand are cheap but well worth the price.

Bohn back protectors are very popular. I vote for the Held gloves as well. A* seems to be more name brand

Held gloves are great, have a pair of Held pole position. They are a little cheaper than the Phantoms still great quality. Also have a Knox Aegis back protector love that too.

    Re: Gloves and back protector

I have the Knox Aegis and like it; I wear it with the Knox chest protector for track use (although I haven't made it there this year, I used it several times last year and was happy with the fit/comfort level). I don't know if any of the newer, impact-responsive armor would be better or not in that kind of application.

As far as gloves go, I like my A* GP Plus gloves for track use, and I really like my Held Steve gloves for road use. YMMV, of course, but I've found that it seems to be worth spending $100+ on street/track gloves.

Another vote for Held gloves. I have a pair of Dainese as well but I like the Helds better. I'm thinking about a new back protector too, so thanks to those who replied to the original poster on those.

    Re: Gloves and back protector

Cortech adrenalines can still be had for cheap. I picked mine up for less than $40 on discount. Sizing is about right, but the knuckle-protector is just hardened rubber with a shiny finish.
The leather is nice and has good perforation, however the stiching is on the inside, not the outside of the glove. This kinda digs into your skin and can be kind-of annoying. Also the wrist strap often finds it's way out of the plastic loop and is a P.I.T.A. to put back in.
Unless your budget is really slim I would spend the extra money on a pair of Held's A*'s or Knox's.

EDIT: Was talking about the Cortech Injectors instead of the Adrenalines.

I Am actually going to be upgrading my back protector, I have the bionic now and just crash tested it last Saturday, It held up fine but i feel i could us a little more protection and a chest protector so i'm switching to knox

Also i have the Cortech Adrenaline's and love them, also crash tested fine slid on palms and they done even show wear. NO sure what Rossco is talking about mine are external stiching and the most comfortable glove i've ever worn

Bohn is having a sale on their ProRacer back protector right from their site. $139, regularly $169.

There's really something to be said about actually TRYING ON gear. Especially gloves.

In case you're curious, I have a pair of Held Phantoms and I use a www.impactarmor.com chest/back protector combo... might be a bit more than you want to spend, but I love it.
