My go pro 3 locks up all the time. POS My 89.99 contour roam amazon deal might not get better video quality but it hasn't fail me yet. This update better fix my POS go pro. Thanks for the update.

I just updated my camera and downloaded the iPhone app - it works pretty well so far. Nice to be able to preview the shots as well view recordings on the SD card. Can also download them to your phone. With the number of times my camera has just frozen during a recording, I fully expected to brick my camera on this update, but so far so good.

I have the HD1...accidentally dropped the camera on the first day I used it , scratched the lens, and was considering an upgrade to an HD2 or HD3...but if there's reliability issues, I'll just get another used HD1

Just got a go-pro silver and updated it. A few test vids show way better quality than an original hero HD.

Yep my HD3 takes incredible video.....when it works. These things suck donkey balls as far as reliability goes....hell, my MV Agustas were way more reliable than this shit camera.

Contour, but GoPro will have more accessories out there.

Didn't have many issues with gopro 1 or 2, but the 3 has been garbage. Had to warranty two of them so far. The third one is working as of now. Will be getting something else next time.

I have an older ContourGPS and the picture quality doesn't really compare to the GoPro IMO. One thing I do like better about the contour, is there is less fish eye effect in the video vs the gopro. Also being able to rotate the camera view is a nice option

my experience with GoPro has been great though. after like 30 minutes of basic troubleshooting, they decided to RMA it. I told them I needed a working camera in my hands by Aug 10 for the BoMo day. they emailed me a pre-paid label and told me to email them when I dropped it off for shipping. 2 hours later, they verified FedEx had the tracking number received, and already mailed me a replacement. Despite having issues with it not working, I would buy from them again, based on their customer service.

They do have good customer service. I have one of their mounts break on my first time using it. Emailed them that Id lost the camera because of it, had me email them a receipt and pictures of the broken mount, they sent me a new camera.

Just came back from a trade show with GoPro Exhibiting.

It seems GoPro has backed themselves into a corner with the GoPro 3. Number 1 issue for issues is SD cards. Poor quality / low speed cards don't handle the date of 1080p 60 frames per second and higher. The new firmware enable to watch videos on smartphones.

Look at their tech support pages for SD cards that seem to be supported and work. Also the proper format technique as SDXC on your PC or use:
