"He Gotta Pipe" - Mini Madness

I don't know how this thread doesn't exist yet, this is all things mini. I want to hear about minis you have, minis you want, things you want to do to your mini, flat tracking, Supermoto, whatever!

We'll kick it off with a sweet pic of someone's mini sumo from the internets.

I keep buyin' them...hardly ridin' them...

    boo-ya

    my first

rode it one day, sold it

    round 2 - project bike!

    bridgestone slick!

    so cheap!

    ran a 120 rear...a bit too wide...

    built! sold! roughly broke even!

    then bought this baby

17's, suspension, steering damper, "expert" swingarm, vforce reeds, newer plastics

friend blew it up, he "fixed" it, sold it and broke even!

there are 2 tracks within 60-90 mins of me...this is where I started:

Speaking of, I have a coworker who is selling an '06 TT-R 125 that runs and drives. His "buy it now" price is $600 to me, I'm thinking this is a $1k+ bike after browsing CL for comps. What say you, mini guys? Go or not go? He definitely won't go down any more, I started at $300

Re: "He Gotta Pipe" - Mini Madness

Cool, that disk brake up front is a big win, longer swingarm and 16" wheel in back is good to have as well. I've got to check to see if they were putting remote resi shocks on the big wheel machines in 06...

You'll want to get sintered pads (OEM YZ85 are good) and a better front brake line at a min, run the stock rims with BT45s if you're going to pavement bash it. They're supposed to respond well to a pipe and replacement carb, many suggest a BBR frame brace but I dunno if they'll fit with an OEM exhaust.

Oooph. $600 is fair price in my book. Someone offer pinned a 12 pack finder's fee.
Although the XR100 seems easier to class up.

funny you mention the TTR125, I'm buying one for dirt cheap. It's an 05 four stroke. Runs very well but will need 1st gear at some point. Josh, what do you think?

Now off to google to do a little research on it.

If you have to split the cases, it had better be CHEAP.

Oh, I might just have a transmission in my spares kit...

I'll check my parts box, fairly certain I've got a full TT-R transmission in there, haven't inspected to see what shape it's in though. I won't be at the track this weekend though so it'll have to wait till August for barter time.

Hah! I gotta keep the XR, its sentimental now. I'm actually looking for a second so I can use that 16" front wheel I bought. Makes sense, right?

That said, whoever is interested in that TTR, let me know. My buddy is trying to get rid of it, he needs a full sized dirt bike. $600 is the bottom dollar price, bike is in Mansfield.

That CRF150 I told you about in Antrim NH was not there when I drove by on Sunday heading home. Not sure if it sold or they just put it back in the garage.

I'm doubtful for riding the Tt-R on Sunday because I'm looking for a rear wheel. Mine is VERY wobbley and unstable. May stop by Saturday but the wife is making my plans for this weekend.

Re: "He Gotta Pipe" - Mini Madness

Before I started LRRS we would ride minis in parking lots. This is an Xr100 with a big bore, carb, exhaust, and a honda mb50 front end with disk brake slides right into the xr100 triples. Those were an absolute blast and were super cheap to build. Parking lot had massive elevation change into the hairpin turn too!
