What latnz said. Use a blow gun to float it off then. I use windex to put them back on.

    Re: take-off/put-on Grips

If you use only air it will not slip. 2 people makes it easier.
If you don't have air then grip glue works great if you wait for it to cure poperly.

Sounds silly, but I used hairspray. That stuff's slippery when wet, sticky as hell when dry. No issues since using that method...

No grip glue. It's messy. Spray a lot of WD40 in the grip, install, and let it dry

Might as well put heaters under the grips while you have it apart.

Getting it off, not idea as I alway cut my old ones off. But to install new ones, I use hairspray for the above reasons.

FYI- I used to use hairspray. If you ride in the rain it can get wet and the grip can get slippery.

I don't use anything, but if I'm really concerned, I'll safety wire 'em.

    Air only if possible.
Grip glue if there's no air compressor.

    Re: take-off/put-on Grips

I cut mine off then followed progrips instruction using soapy water to put the new ones on. A blast of compressed air to dry them

    Re: take-off/put-on Grips

I've heard a lot about the hairspray method but I'd like to know how they do it at the factory. I've never seen any gripglue remnants when I removed a grip.

    Re: take-off/put-on Grips

Compressed air has given me the best result. Take a blow nozzle, slide it under the inner side of the grip and blow it while working it off. Do the opposite to get it on.

Has worked the best for me. Got the tip from Ryan Nicolson on this forum. Grip glue was really messy, and hair spray didn't last.

The WD40 worked great to slip the grips on, then holds perfectly once it's dry. If you don't believe me, test my street or track bike. Never safety wired any of my grips after trying WD40

I will say though, make sure to use a good amount of WD40. Compressed air helps getting the grips on/off very easily.

    Re: take-off/put-on Grips

your call. i've done 4 sets of grips with WD-40 & never had an issue. I wouldnt suggest super glue. i've tried grip glue & hairspray, didnt like the end result.

Little bit of gasoline works great, or brake cleaner.

Allows it to slide right on, just work quick if you use brake cleaner, once it evaporates, that grip is on there.

I've personally never had a problem with the hairspray method, wet, humid, whatever...
