<shrug> Usually I'm a big fan of customs that look like they ride/perform extremely well...this one fits that bill but I'm not feeling it.

clean, but too much bike...not enough cafe styling

Isn't it more deleting? or is that bobber, or chopper, or street fighter.. I think they're all about deleting things aren't they?

You'd think they'd be able to at least eliminate one of those raidiators. that would clean up the look alot, even if they had to detune the engine so it wouldn't over heat.

I can't quite decide whether this is awesome, or awful. Probably both.
I'd want to see it in person.
I bet it's hella fun to ride.

There are some great raw materials there, but it looks cluttered and awkward. I'm sure the riding experience is mind blowing though.

Love the industrial look. I woulda went more that way than kinda cafe. I think a more muted color would have let it tie in better. Either way I want it.

to quote a motorcycle thing i follow on facebook:

not sure if i hate it or want to set it on fire.

total sleeper in my book. looks a lot like a sport classic, maybe thats what i dont like. looks like something else the same company already makes...and i like the SC

Too much going on there... Cafe's are supposed to be slow bikes, stripped to go fast.... That looks like they made a fast bike slow.

Started scrolling down and got excited when I saw the tank/seat, then I saw the rest. Just seems like way too much is going on for it to be cafe. I would love to add a cafe style bike to the garage. I love the minimalism and looks of them. This doesn't do it for me. I love the bars, seat and tank, but the rest is too busy.

The original café racers were the fastest and sportiest bikes of their time. They only seem to us to be "slow bikes, stripped to go fast" in hindsight, since factories now build truly fast bikes.

    Re: Panigale..... cafe style

That is not a good looking bike mechanically to strip down in that fashion. Café racers made standard bikes more sporty and quicker. This simply made a fast bike look bad.

    Re: Panigale..... cafe style

Not liking it. I was just poring over an 899 last night. The big design issue I have with it is that the foot controls are bolted to a very small tab on the engine cases. While breaking the tab off the cases doesn't seem unfixable, it is certainly not a convenient thing to fix. When using this bike as intended, I don't think it will have a long useful lifespan.

Did they really need to use a drink bottle in the design? Really?

    Re: Panigale..... cafe style

Yeah not to pile on but the reason I don't like it is that it doesn't make sense to remove useful parts from a bike where the power to weight ratio is no concern to begin with. It looks like too many fragile parts hanging in unprotected areas, not pleasing to the eye in terms of lines, the swingarm looks too long, the seat looks like a torture rack, and even with customs, I've never been a fan of removing fenders because art is art and bikes are bikes, that should be ridden. Every time I see a bike with no or useless fenders, I picture the rider hiding under an overpass and calling for a ride home because even after the rain stops he won't be able to see.

No denying the bike would be fun in the right conditions...but maybe the most fun thing to do with it would be to see the look on the faces of the Ducati designers who pride themselves on creating the best looking bikes, when they first see what was done to this one

    I fix.

    Mags instead of spoked.

Flat black wrinkle coat instead of chrome/polished in all spots.

    Fixed.
