    Well color me intrigued.

I know there are of few of you with groms...anybody build one to reliably do 60ish without wheezing?

I was all set to pick up a Grom this season, till I found out about this little beauty a week or so ago. I don't mind waiting till June.

Why exactly is this a grom "killer"? Specs look similar at quick glance.

Yeah, they're extremely similar, so I don't know that I'd necessarily call it a "killer" either. But it will definitely steal a good chunk of sales (*raises hand*).

With gearing a grom will get to and hold 60 just fine. They're a little under geared factory, never really makes it to the top of 4th.

A pipe, intake mod, and tune can bump you from 9 HP up to about 12. Gains, bruh.

Swapping into the Grom? I don't hear about too many people modifying their rear suspension in the Z125 groups, but I will keep an eye out for one.

    Re: Grom killer - Z125

I picked up one of these a couple of months back because my wife wanted to get back into riding again. We tried out 3 different bike, Ninja 300, Star 250 and the Z125. Because she is vertically challenged the Z125 was the best choice for her. I picked the Z125 over the Grom for 2 main reasons. The first is it has a gas gauge and the second is it has a gear indicator. Not a big deal for me but I figured it would make life easier for my wife since she is a new again rider.

Well I have to say that I personally love this bike. It's my first ever kawi purchase and I'm totally happy with the bike so far. Easily does 55 with me on it in stock trim.

Here it is next to my EBR 1190SX. It's like a mini-me EBR.

The Grom has a gas gauge as well. No gear indicator though.

    Re: Grom killer - Z125

I think it is fairly common, but my gas gauge is way off. It's on one bar blinking at about 110 miles. That leaves 60-70 miles of range left before I run out.

I've put about 2300 miles on mine since buying it at the end of April. I wish I could get my wife to ride it. She likes riding her dirt bike, but she is nervous about riding on the road.
