GSXR600
GSXR750
Which do you think is better for my 2nd bike? I'm planning on buying at the end of this season. I've been riding Man God's GSXR750 a lot and I am totally in love with it, but I'm not sure if I should actually buy a 750 or go with a 600 as I don't think I need that much power - otherwise, the two bikes seem to be about the same. We're going over to Billerica Motorsports today to check out the 600 (and drop the 750 off for service). I'm torn because I know I already really like the fit of the 750, but not sure I really need it, especially as my 2nd ride...I'm looking for a bike to keep for the long-term so I want to be happy with the choice. Oh, also feel free to flame if you think neither is the right choice or I'm crazy for wanting a GSXR with only a couple of thousand miles under my belt...I'm open to anything at this point.
Voted 600 even though I've always had a thing for the 750.
They are both plenty fast (ridiculously fast), and they are the same chassis so if you hopped on the 750 and it fits fine, the 600 should also fit you fine.
The insurance will be less on the 600 too.
Yeah, I feel the same - I have a "thing" for the 750 now because I've been riding it, but I really think 600 is probably the better choice - not to mention the lower insurance...Originally posted by benVFR

600. It's way more street friendly and I think it's more fun to ride. Yes, the 750 has bigger balls, but the 600 is just a hoot. Besides, the 600 is a way better bike for Loudon.
GO TO TONY'S TRACK DAYS!
I'm Bikeless.
I've owned both and I have to say I love my new bike much better. A 2005 Honda 600RR.
Jenn, what is it that makes the Honda your favorite over the 3?
The Honda has a much smoother roll on the throttle not as twitchy as the GSXR. It also shifts smoother. The rider seat position is better, the gixxer has a tendancy to put a lot of stress on the elbows and wrists and on long rides it gets bothersome. On a 500 plus mile ride last year I wanted to throw my bike in the woods and ride bitch home on my boyfriend's bike! Ha ha ha!!
LMAO! Too funny... I kinda like the twitchiness of it though I hit the throttle a couple of times by accident when going over bumps and that wasn't the greatest...Originally posted by Jenn B

You might like the 6 better.. Little lighter, quicker to turn and not that much difference in horsepower.. and I think size wise they are about the same size....
i voted for the 750. im guessing you plan on having the bike for a while. i would have said the 600 if it was your first bike,. but you have some experience on the 750 and it seems like you can handel it fine. while the 600 will be fast it may leave you wishing you had a little more power in the future, and you will notice a power difference between the 2. good luck.

Things that make you go hmmmm
Take your hubbies bike and let him get a GSXR1000![]()
He may thank me for this? You said you already like it! & the powere is all in your own hands, if you dont want to use it keep the throttle controlled!
If thats not an option I say you will be happy with either one.. & How much would the insurance be effected? I wouldn't imagine if be a significant difference? Call your agent to find out! That may not play a role in the decision if it's under $100 a year more right?

Man God doesn't care either way - wants me to get what will make me happyThough I really like the idea of taking his bike and him getting a 1000
The unbelievable part is that apparently there is a big shortage of GSXR's this year as the demand is high! We just got back from Billerica Motorsports and they only had one 750 (an Anniversary Edition) and an R1 on the floor! The woman said that cruisers were in demand last year and now everyone is buying sportbikes like crazy! She said they've been promised 2 600s and she's not even sure they will get those since production is so far behind! So, needless to say, I didn't get to try out a GSXR600 or even an R6 or any other 600 todayAnyone know anyplace in the area with 600s in stock by any chance? This sucks!

Not sure if there is a 1000 shortage or not - she only talked about the 600, but there weren't any GSXR1000s in the showroom. She mentioned they had sold the last 1000 they had last week...
Don't you worry bout that...Originally posted by Kham

You haven't mentioned what bike you're riding now?
And although I voted for the 600, if you can't drag your knee at the track on the one you've got, why go bigger? Why not build mad skills on the one you've got and move up when you can really have a blast on one of the more powerful rides?
Just playing devil's advocate...

I already blew it by going 750 - no turning back now! We probably won't be doing any track stuff anytime soon - just don't have enough time, but I am bored as shit on the 250 - I really do not like it very much at all, it's not the bike for me for the long run. If I knew then what I know now, I probably would have gotten a 500 to start with and maybe still be happy with that. Now, the 750, I do love. We also have a GS500 so I'm getting time on all kinds of stuff. I bet that most people start out on a 500 or 600 anyway- I've already done my time on the 250 and it's time to move on...Originally posted by sahd03
