    The new bike: Pics

Alright so I made it home from the dealership without encountering any rain, so it's official: the new bike is home. Took a couple pics in the garage tonight. Man does the exhaust note of this thing sound damn sexy. And the heli-bar/aero screen/ gel seat combo made a world of difference in comfort from the stock model that I test rode. Also, keeping the rpm's down for the break in is going to be a lesson in self control to say the least. This thing just wants to pull and pull and pull, regardless of engine speed.

allow me to be the first to say congrats.

i might be looking to add a triumph D675 to my stable eventually... it might end up being a street triple, though... or a thruxton .

I wouldn't break that motor in too softly...peruse this aritcle before it's too late.

I'm a believer of these methods...

    Congrats again. I love mine.

Break in sucks: Just when that intake starts to howl a bit, that little voice about being responsible during break in starts yapping in your head

    Nice ride!

"Break-in" is simply peeling off the warning stickers.

I'm a gixxer rider, so I'm expected to make a squidly comment now and then.

Firstly congrats, awesome bike. I have a Sprint (also a Triple), but I'm still jealous because that is a fantastic bike.

Second though, I would not second guess the factory thinking some joker who posts a web page knows better how to break in their bike than the people who built it. The factory has insured your bike for 2 years and they have a vested interest in making sure break-in is done the best way possible. They also have their reputation for reliability at stake, and if they start developing a rep for unreliable or underpowered bikes their sales are shot.

There's a long sticky over at the Triumphrat Sprint forum where I've been a member for a while.

Yea I did ok.... not as good as I probably could have, but I got them $250 off of sticker, no freight or setup charges, and 15% off of all the accessories on it.

Hey man you have to admit that the TL is a tasteful bike and I miss mine... it just sucks that Suzuki has gotten such a bad rep because of the squidly bastards.

Oh I'll be there.... for some reason bike night never gets old. I just have to find a better way to get up there, because slabbing it up on 495 gets boring as shit

Not according to the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act of 1987. Unless for some odd reason you can't get this to apply to MC's?
In the case of the exhaust specifically, if the MC was OEM with a catalytic converter on it, and the new exhaust removes that part, then there is no liability on the dealer for emissions or decibel reduction, as the part directly altered the original intent for that system... on the other hand, you get an FI light coming sometime after installation and the warranty work is denied, you call the EPA (if its emissions related) or Federal Trade Commission for all else and mention the MMWA 1987 and related aftermarket parts installed, worst case or when in doubt, lawyer up and the warranty gets covered.

Very nice looking TD. I like the color. Congrats.
