Or at least ever ridden one? I was going to test ride one today but it's fuckin' raining.... thoughts? I think I've pretty much made up my mind on it but I would just like to hear from someone first hand as to what they thought about the bike.

I think Hoss has one. He has had good luck with it (he posted about a long trip he took on it).

Nancy did turn hers back in after having multple issues. I do believe she had a first production model in which many had issues.

I gotta believe this has not been the norm....nan's problems were kind of odd and I don't think typical.

I rode one at the track last year... friggin LOVED it. Had to pull in after 4 laps cuz it was getting rediculous... i was planting my knees in corners i shouldn't be planting them in on someone else's bike.

Have you been to the "Triumph rat" forums to read-up on the peeps that own them?

I looked at that bike in the spring, never rode it though, wish I had.....

I'm on my way out the door so this is quick and dirty.

Triumph Daytona 675 and Street Triple 675 Forums and Triumph 675 Online Community - Triumph675.net has a ton of info (along with a lot of your normal bike forum crap). Search is your friend there.

As far as first production bikes, nancy and I got our bike about the same time. There was a problem with the lining of the gas tank. it was peeling and floating in the gas. That was taken care of after the first "batch".

A recall on the front gear "fold over washer" and the fuel pump relay as well.

Also, Triumph used some crappy plastic elbows into the coolant resovior that people are having issues with as the can break. Seems *most* of the problems are hot weather guys, but a owner from MA had the problem as well. Most people are getting elbows from hardware stores and fixing it themseves (no recall/bulletin yet).

Another problem I've read about is some sort of cam tensioner issue. People were hearing a funny Buzz at a certain RPM. Search that out for details.

A few magazines have grenaded the motor by "not realizing the bike was low on oil". Mine did consume some oil early, but has stopped since about 8-9k. Not much really, but enough to notice every 500-600 miles.

Some people bitch about the undertail exhaust being too hot as well as the ergo's of the bike. I find if i'm not in traffic, neither bother me. Who wants to be in traffic anyway?

With all that said, I've had my tank replaced because of the peeling liner and have had zero problem with the bike. I've Been to Nova Scotia, and then to my first track day within a week of each other this past summer and the bike perform great for me in both roles.

Bike gets looks, very narrow and flickable, and sounds amazing. I can't tell you how much I love it, and would buy one again without question.

Thanks Hoss, that's about what I had been reading.... everyone would buy one again in a heartbeat. I went up to Second Wind Triumph/BMW in Merrimack. Very nice guys up there. They still have a few '07's in stock, but are still basically selling them at msrp. I was hoping to pick up a leftover '07 at a discounted price now that the '08's have hit the floor in some places.

One of the guys in my RAT pack DID buy one again after a little old lady backed over his original one in a parking lot. He's had no problems with it and absolutely loves it.

Hey so did you buy one or just test ride??? I'm 99% set on the 675 at this point, and will most likely be picking one up sometime before Thanksgiving. I'm still pissed I didn't get to test ride on Thursday due to the rain, but maybe this coming week I'll head back up if the weather is cooperating.

Yea when I went up there I was speaking with Nic, who was a really cool guy and unless I get a friggin' spectacular deal somewhere else that they can't match, they have won my business for sure.

Yeah, 2nd wind has been great to me so far. I was there today looking for some sort of "neck sock" type thing and foudn nothing.

Saw the 2 bros yellow sitting in the showroom. I prefer the looks of the Jardine on the bike, but have no plans to touch the stocker.

so we could suddenly have 4 SY 675's in the near future around here? (RacerXNh has one as well, although he's not posted in a while)

Yea I saw the scorched yellow with the add-ons.... some nice upgrades but I don't know if I am willing to shell out the extra $1600 right now for them. I really liked the black and the yellow, and now seeing as how you're gonna be picking up the stock scorched yellow(you bastard) I'm gonna shoot for the black one if it's still around in a month or so. I dunno why, but the graphite just doesn't do it for me.

And have you seen the Jardine carbon exhaust yet? Damn is it sexy....

Anyone here have a Daytona 675?

As Jamie said my G/F Nanc had a 675 and just got all of her $ back after having multiple issues with hers. I have also heard a few other having similar issues and just trading the bikes in instead of trying to let the dealers fix it. After 4 attempts to fix a transmission issue then a coolant issue the bikes engines siezed and she filed a claim with NH and Triumph USA. Triumph called and offered to give her 100% of her $ back after having the bike over a year and 1/2. Triumph stands behind their products! That is something to give them Kudos on, so she is getting another Triumph but not another 675. The bike should be delivered in two weeks or so, but will not be on the road until spring..

I rode the bike a few times and it was an awesome machine, if you want a similar bike with less potential for issues go for a 600rr or a R6, better yet a Zuki 750!

Good luck.. If you want my real advice on a kick ass machine get a DUKE!!!! Come over and take it for a ride... When you get back take the RC out too both are very sad just sitting in the garage while I work on my house...
