Off to get some hydraulic fluid. I clearly do not understand how these jacks work. Shouldn't the fluid be under some sore of pressure? There's just a rubber button as a cap.

You're filling the resi the pump draws off of. No pressure there. It gets drawn from the resi by the pump and shoved unceremoniously into the piston to make the jack do it's thing. Not enough in the resi and you'll only be able to make the jack go so far.

Cool. I'll hit you up next time I have plans to go out there. There's actually a bike on CL that I want to check out in Fitchburg...

    Harbor Freight lift table?-20170122_182950-jpg

I ditched the table and went with the Eazy Rizer. More money, but way more versitile, rock steady and takes only about a 3 foot square when not in use. Initial setup is takes a little tweaking, but it's quick & easy afterwards. The Red model is rated for 750 lbs and will do all of that. Blue model uses same lift mechanism but has a slightly larger base so it's good for 1,250, IIRC.

I like that I can pull the wheels.

That thing is cool, but it looks like it's harder to switch from bike to bike? I actually like having the table under the bike, too, as a workspace, for tools, etc.

The instances of "Where'd I leave that damned 10mm" have actually reduced since buying this table

I remember I bought a tool cart at one point that was theoretically supposed to be able to be rolled to a bike to work on it and keep tools handy. The shop has mutated, consuming the tool cart and making it part of itself. Like a scene from Aliens or something.

Haha! My shop hasn't eaten the cart...yet.

Yes, there is some adjustment needed to switch bikes, but once you've done it a few times, it's only 5 minutes or so. I wouldn't want this for a commercial shop, but if I had a business, taking up a whole bay with a table wouldn't be an issue.

It's very solid. As long as the floor is reasonably flat at the base, I think you would have to purposely try to knock it over. I have it on concrete so no issues at all. I usually lower the bike to torque the wheels or do things that require a lot of force, but it's plenty secure even when all the way up. Normal wrenching is fine; oil changes, chain service, wheel cleaning, etc., are all easy.

It's made in England, not Asia, and, to my knowledge, Jeff White's company (lifts-and-stands.com) in GA is the sole US distributor. He has been fine to work with. Very responsive and and returned my calls while he was away at Daytona bike week - even seemed sober!

This thing is well made and rugged so they don't give them away. Price-wise, it's right in the ball park with the medium quality lift tables like the ones sold by NH Pro Equipment in Bow, NH. Quality is definitely better than the Harbor Frightening stuff! Best of all, it takes up very little floor space when not being used. My only wish for improvement would be to add a couple of wheels so I could tilt and roll it instead of dragging across the floor. I'm getting old...

If you want to check it out in person, I keep mine at my workshop in the Nashua area. PM me and I'll give you a phone # and directions.

I was looking at that HF lift but then I found this and like the features it has over the HF one and without the coupon it's the same price. Mostly the same but better wheel clamp and it uses air.

Actually, looking at it, I bet the jack from that one would fit the HF model; they really do look identical. Would you mind getting some good pictures of the pneumatic jack when you have a chance?

I've been to their business to pick up some side extensions for one of my brothers table lifts. Wish I had a pocketful of money when I went. I would have come back with a truck load of stuff.

Y'all suck. I had myself convinced I didn't need one of those. Now I am seriously questioning my previous decision....

Sorry Mike but if you're paying more than $300 then you're getting took. I just might have a few coupons for $279 or $299, I'd have to check.
