If you are looking for a chrome plated sub-tech slow no stopping lousy cornering oil leaking louder than Crackatoa motorcycle with black and white tv era technology that you can pay too much for then this bike is for you. This bike will make up for your tiny manhood and eggshell ego and is perfect for that fat-ass tits on the ground tattooed smelly bovine nearly toothless "old lady" you lug around with you every where you go just so you don't have to kiss her goodbye. Now you can show up at biker events and mingle with other beer-aholic losers who play dress up with the black outfits and stupid vests covered in dumb slogan patches and cheesy trinket buttons and pretend like you're a "son of anarchy." This bike has enough chrome on it to blind you on a sunny day and enough money invested in it to keep my kids from having descent shoes or dental care. Why should they be different from Mom and Dad...right? If you buy it this week I'll throw in every other dumb thing I've bought just because it says "Harley" on it. Once you throw a leg over this beauty you can run that movie in your head where you're the big hero and chicks flock around you like flies. Actually those are flies, but your friends will tell you how "bad to the bone" you look and make you feel special spouting words like "screming eagle" and "stage one kit" and that alone is priceless in a world where you can get a personality from a dealership. So don't wait. Bust out that wallet tethered to you with a dog chain and plop down your kids college tuition and you can fantasize about being a man. This is your chance.

The Blast requires more work for the initial build, but the big reason in my mind, you're starting with a 360lb dry base vs 550lbs dry.

there was a local guy dirt tracking one a few years back. Also I think Harley ran them in their factory teams for a year or two.

I think a couple guys ran them in WERA or somewhere out west. It's another bike that would only be fun if you were racing other ones.

Stock head plus mild bore gets 50hp and a torque curve a stock Hawk would drool over. Said stock Hawk motor has done 17s.

That lil Blast can be taken to 700cc, accept XB Thunderstorm heads and with a lil re-imaginiring of the rod setup be allowed to REV. I think a Blast can certainly be built to dice it up in ULSB and Super Singles, just gotta think outside the box a bit on the motor build.

The motor is the easy part. Have you seen a stock Blast frame? I think if you wanted to do it you would need to look at a C&J frame.

yeah. cause that's what all us Harley guys say about Sport bikes.

The majority of Harley owners got their start on metric bikes and still have an appreciation for them. At least most of the guys I know.

I'm not familiar with the C&J frames, time to raid Google. What I've seen of the Blast frame didn't immediately scare me off, lots to cut off it... I've also seen XB frame conversions but I don't know how much that'd impact the weight in comparison.

Edit: Those C&J frames are nice looking units. Also looks like they are a PITA to track down unfortunately.

See if you had a million dollars and wanted to prove a point doing a Blast build from scratch would be pretty fun. It's just not cheap to get reliable horsepower out of a Blast.

Sticking a Blast motor in the XB chassis sounds like a great idea. A friend and I were talking about sticking an XR600 motor in an XB frame. The XB frame is really well built and a single would rock in that chassis.

Another bonus of starting with an XB, you have an XB crank and head to spare if going the blast route.

On the XR600 front a couple years back there was a TZ250 chassis sporting an XR600 mill at Loudon a couple times. Killer setup, sounded mean as hell and seemed to go like stink on the track.
