    Optimate 3/gerbing gear plugs

I was told that there is some universal aftermarket adaptor to allow one hard link to the battery (I cannot recall if it was the heated gear or the tender) and you can then connect the second accessory directly into the hard lead of the battery.
Basically allowing one hard wire to the battery and 2 diff accessories to be used (not simultaneously).

Ive checked the optimate and gerbing sites, but nothing.

Anyone have/know about something like this.

    Optimate 3/gerbing gear plugs

I bought a gerbings to SAE adaptor @ Venco Wings, but I don't see it on their website

I have 2 pigtails connected to my battery, one for gerbings and one for SAE, when I have a pillon that has a gerbings liner, I use the adaptor on the SAE lead to hook up the second liner

I also have a SAE to cigarette lighter outlet adaptor rather than installing a permenant Powerlet

Not sure I understand you clearly, as my hearing's going, but here's a bunch of connecter crap:

    Powerlet - Powersport Standard Connector

Using a non-fused pigtail for accessories seems like a bad idea, if that's what's suggested.

Let me try again, it was a little confusing. I was told (by a parts girl at a local shop) that I only need to hard wire my optimate to the bike. Then, there is an adaptor to connect that optimate to my gerbings, thus allowing only one cable hanging on the bike instead of two.

Normally I dont care (triumph, drz etc) but on the ducati it is a very tight battery area and really not easy to get the second plug attached and run cleanly into a good location so it would be nice to just have the one.

Nah. None of my stuff uses that SAE plug....I think that was used for the older model heated gear.

The plug for the optimate is one of those big clip looking things...ill try to find a picture...

So, you want to have an adapter that you install between the battery charger/tender (Optimate 3) pigtail (the part connected and left attached to the bike's battery) and your Gerbing gear? The more recent Gerbing stuff is coax.

This appears to be an Optimate 3 to SAE adapter here:
    Gates Adapter for Optimate 3

You would then need that SAE to coax adapter. Seems like a lot of crap to be stringing together?
