Hauling a motard, w/o suspension, crazy?

I might have to bring my motard up to Loudon and have its forks and rear shock meet it up there.

Would it be crazy to try to haul it up to Loudon in an enclosed trailer without the suspension?

If not, what's the best way to go about it?

I'm thinking I might just be able to secure the loose bits (namely, calipers), then tie it down from the front triples and some secure place in the rear, so that it would be supported on the floor by the engine case....IIR, the swingarm will swing far enough to get out of the way.

I have a pit-bull system in my trailer, another option would be to mount the rear wheel, put it in the pit-bull, put something (block of wood?) to support rear near normal ride height, then a block / milk crate under the engine case, then tie down the front so it doesn't hop off the crate?

    Open to any suggestions here.

I'd pad the engine cases with some thick foam/cushions/wood/etc. Easier?

Lay it on a take-off tire. Boom. Instant cushioning.

Enclosed? Throw it in the back and shut the door. It's a motard.

The # of bumps you hit will be correlated with the # of kicks it takes to start.

    Maybe turn the gas off.

Exactly, tie downs and you're good to go. As long as it doesn't tip over and there are no hard parts really banging against the floor you should be good.

What does that last, like 4 laps? With no cold tearing if the ambient temp is like 120 degrees F?

The answer is always the same....

    It's a motard.

    It lasts half a season.

Christ, is this just the fast guys? Or are tires softer and bike more powerful these days?

Back in my day I got at least a couple weekends running 21s.
