Hmm, now I'm a little frightened to admit that I plan on extending the swingarm on my CB450 cafe build. Does it make it ok if it's not chromed?

Re: Hello everyone anyone seen my old bike around?

yeah it doesn't have to be chromed, my old bike was polished, not chrome. I think black is good too especially if your keeping the swingarm black too. If I had to do it over again I would splurge and by a one piece swingarm, not the extension links kinda looks cheesy and is a cheap way of making it look better...imo

Re: Hello everyone anyone seen my old bike around?

Oh my goodness what? Isn't that the point of a forum people asking questions and other people answering them. All you guys add your 2 cents and try to be funny but you are the ones who are killing this forum and website. Seriously just because someone likes a style different than the majority of the people here you make jabs at them and get your buds to progressively make dumber and dumber wise cracks. Sorry I'm not into "knee dragging" or "track days" but I love riding just as much as you ass clowns do, so I apologize for not fitting into your cookie cutting community...actually you don't deserve my apology I seem to be the only "individual" who isn't afraid to admit that he is into wide tire bikes and extended swing arms. I guess yes, I put a higher value and my attention on bikes that are aesthetically appealing to me, I'm so against the grain on this website that all you poop dinks like to do is make what you think are witty comments whenever I post a thread. In reality you narrow minded one way pricks are closing doors in your own community by making these comments and not being open to what someone else likes...nuff said for now!

In the words of famous anonymous: "just because you can, doesn't mean you should".
In most cases the R in a bikes model (gsxr,cbr,r1,etc) stands for racing.
You take that bike and you put all that crap on it is like taking replacing Mona Lisa with Kim Kardasian. Ya it might be more to your liking but doesn't fucking mean is the right thing to do.

I understand your mindset, but you are stuck in an obtuse mindstate. You just admitted the problem with yourself and the others in this group, you guys are so caught up in your own similar views that any kind of new age ideas in your own narrow brained mind as you called it "crap" additions puts a hair across your ass. Here's is the thing though, I came into this website positive minded looking for some group association and what I got was "crapped" on because my likes didn't fit into this circle jerk of a forum. I don't need a lesson on what the "R" stands for dad and Mona Lisa is long gone, stop living in your set minds be open to new ways of thinking, or at least let people express what they are into even though its not your cup of tea

And to think... Reading through this thread I ALMOST started to respect you a little for not firing back calling people naughty names like a bratty child that doesn't fit in.

    Extended swingarms look completely ridiculous.

Mona Lisa is long gone shows not lack of education n taste but huge level of ignorance as well.
It is a new age and all these companies Yamaha Suzuki Etc have been in business for decades now they improve their models every year. Yet we still haven't seen one with all the accessories you put on and call art and modern age shit.
You see the problem stands right there. You think it's cool cause it's different because you take something great and make it crap. Change isn't always better and it's not about us being closed minded unfortunately. There are bikes with all your fancy gadgets that run some serious quarter mile times and I'm sure most people here have tons of respect for those. It's the wanna be gangstas/bad asses that throw crome and other shit on bikes and call them custom while the bike sits parked and bunch of Christmas lights go on and off. That ain't art bro. An MV Augusta is art. Mona Lisa is art. A gsxr 1000 with a wheel bigger than it's engine is a crime. A person who takes a SPORT bike and makes it a chopper isn't an artist neither has a special taste. It's an ignorant idiot with some money. Making a dirt bike a motard is new age stuff. Building a custom chopper from scratch is modern shit. Destroying the handing ability of a bike that is build to destroy corners isn't anything cool.

If this forum is a circle jerk, then you are the "yucky cookie". I'd recommend you turn and leave, but that huge ass rear tire and ruined suspension means that isn't an option.

Why does this thread seem like déjà vu?

Didn't we to through this same crap with this same user a while back? And didn't this same user learn from this the first time how others on this forum are in relation to this type of bike?

Re: Hello everyone anyone seen my old bike around?

Okay for starters the tire on my old gixxer was a stock 190, however I do like the larger fat tire bikes. I never used the words "bratty child". I'm sure that the Mona Lisa looked like crap to a lot of people when it was created, however, today your right it is viewed as a true piece of art. So perhaps people of my mentality just have to wait for your types to accept it and eventually grow to view these types of bikes with the aftermarket modern age "shit" as another form of art, not a ruined bike like you view it now. I'm far from a gangster or bad ass and do not what so ever try to be. I never did the light thing on that bike but once again if I had and posted it on here you guys would have said some smart ass shit about that too. You guys just are not able to have an appreciation for anything that is outside of your realm of what is the same pathetic norm. I did run that bike at Epping NH twice and it ran 8.77 so it was used for "R"acing too, I'm sure that still doesn't impress you because you have it set in your heads to dislike anything that doesn't fit into your simple minds. Lastly calling me the "yucky cookie" in the circle jerk comes from some people who are members of this website who are secretly wishing that they could have that title, I'm sure they would love to lick me clean once the final load was blown but once again don't have the balls to say they would love cleaning me up.

I'm sorry. The funniest bit of this thread is anyone referring to Sav as "dad".

Not making fun of you solo... but, well, it's Sav
