Helmet fell apart

Thought I would cross post. Rode for a while on Thursday and found this the last time I took my helmet off.

The helmet was purchased new, in August or September of last year. Used it regularly till about November. Kept it inside, in my bedroom infact, all winter long. Been riding regularly for a month and off and on for 3, so its got MAX 6 months use on it.

Sounds like Scorpion is going to warranty it but kind of scary nevertheless. Maybe it will encourage someone else to spend more than 150$ on a helmet.

What kind of scorpion is that? Did the rubber just pull away, or did the shell come off the foam?

It's an EXO 1000. The entire bottom molding pulled off the shell which resulted in a few layers separating.

That's pretty odd. I haven't heard anything bad about the EXO 1000. Maybe your helmet is an anomaly.

I had the molding come off my arai. It's not common but anything can happen.

That's crazy. I had the same helmet that I've crashed in it and the thing held up fine. Scorpion are pretty good company to deal with so I think you should be fine.

Thats scary. Have you ever dropped that helmet. Left in the sun ? I never saw anything like that?

Nope, never dropped it. I always was very careful with it since I don't have the money to run out and replace it. It was in direct sunlight for the majority of the day, but thats because I was out riding. Besides it didn't even get out of the 70's on Thursday.

I called them on Friday and provided SPTG has my order on file, I'll be able to warranty it with them Scorpion.
