    Helmetless in Mass?

On my way home from work the other night I saw a Guy on a Harley sitting waitng for a traffic light. Nothing odd about that right? Until I drove around him and noticed he did not have a Helmet on. I did a double take to be sure. & Nope no friggin Helmet... Either this guy is testing his luck or he was a dumb ass when he left wherever he was and forgot it!!

What can the charge/ fine you with for riding without a helmet? Can they impound your bike?

I'm curious if this guy was going to be in for a surprise if and when he got pulled over.

Some make-pretend badasses take the law to extremes and will wear their helmet (with a 25¢ DOT sticker affixed) anywhere. Like behind their numb skull. If you're going to be a rebel, at least have some sack about it.

Is there a chance that his helmet was stolen where he came from?

Or is there a chance he stole that bike?

Did he have Mass or NH plates ?
Some guys say, since it's not required in their home state, not required elsewhere when riding.

I have seen that too Mike, in Framingham actually - I wondered if the bloke I saw had a tiny beanie on that I couldn't see, but no I am sure there was nothing on (or inside) his head.

I guess theres no need to protect a head with no brains..

The Plates were MASS plates, and the Helmet was nowhere to be seen for where I was. I have heard of people saying they have worn the helmets on their arm and when they get pulled over the clain the law says nothing about were the helmet is to be worn. (IDIOTS)

& if your state does not require a Helmet, then it's only valid in those states. As soon as you cross the state line into a helmet required State you are then required to have one on.

The arm thing is bullshit too. When I was in Cyprus last year they had just introduced lid laws, and I heard stories of the "wearing on your elbow" trick being done, but the riders I spoke to said even the coppers over there wouldn't buy that nonsense.

I can't see a Mass state copper being impressed with that at all.

Still no helmet at all is probably only slightly less safe than those things that look like a yamulka.

I think the message here is clear.

If you don't want people to notice that you're being skullfucked by a squirrel, grow a Village People moustache to distract them.

    Helmetless in Mass?

I used to live on the NH/MA border around the nashua area, and have seen this on multiple occasions(guys in mass with no helmet on) Now, it wasnt like i was talking to a state trooper or anything but i have talked to a couple people who had mentioned something about if you were within a certain distance from the border to a state without helmet laws, then it was ok. I think they were referring to an instance were you might be on a road that crossed back and forth over state borders a couple times. like i said this is just hearsay but thought i'd toss it out there. (still doesnt offer a reason for someone in framingham to be doing it)

I have more of a issue with the people wearing a full leather suit and no helmet, or skull cap. Then the people wearing no helmet in general. At least go down and destroy it all. And not leave a great corpse with no skull. Maybe they are doing it for organ donations?

    Helmetless in Mass?

'the girls cant see how good i look if i have a helmet on"...IDIOTS!!

You know.., put aside the fact that a helmet DRASTICALLY reduces the chance of head injuries and just look at the multiple other reasons why you should wear a helmet:
A: all that wind noise, especially on the highway will make you deaf...literally
B: dirt hurts when it hits you in the face....at any speed. How many poeple have been hit in the face with something but had a helmet on to protect you?
C: BUGS!! kinda like dirt but much larger and some have stingers. girls arent gonna care if you have a bike when half your face is fucked up from riding through some kinda swarm. They also come in different sizes; bug- B52s-and Pteradactals(these are like june bugs...ouch )
D: water hurts too. rain, spray, windsheild wiper fluid all feel like little needles
E: most importantly (other than safety)...warmth. 75 degrees is nice but at 80MPH its fuckin cold.

im sure everone on this wears a PROPER helmet so im preacing to the choir. I dont wave to poeple who arent wearing helmets...PERIOD.
