    Right, Wrong & Wrong.

We have one jacket made in Pakistan in solid and perf. In an average year we get around 200 of them. In a good week we make 200 jackets and have over 150 different styles [including the one made in Pakistan but made here] Custom suits aren't cheap and will cost you more than 1500. Jackets - would be very hard to spend that much on a custom jacket.

Last but not least - I'm an 80's burnout.

Dudes like you piss me off [speaking as a consumer not a rep of Vanson]. Your facts are unchecked and your slandering Vanson. If you don't like Vanson thats fine we're nowhere near perfect - hell we make plenty of mistakes. If you're in American manufacturing trying to source quality materials which go up generally once a month [fuel surcharges] and get discontinued regularly how do you deal with that? Constructive criticisms welcomed. kevinn at vansonleathers d0tc0m

    Kevin,

Please don't take Rich's comments to seriously.

Actually he has a full custom set-up from you guys.

He complains about no pockets in it.

I think he got hit by a chopper blade back in the "Nam" or something.

    Hey Jennay!

I think we were in the same MSF class! small world! i took it this past summer at Bunker Hill CC. I'm edwin, one of the three asians ... but yes, i guess we all look the same...

Quote Originally Posted by jennay View Post
Yup, this is my first bike. I went on a ducati monster (not sure of the size) this summer as a passenger, and I fell in love with being on a bike. So I got my learner's permit, took a bike course, got my license, and bought the F650. I ordered it a month ago, and it just arrived home this past Saturday.

I've only ridden it once on my own so far, and another time as a passenger. I need to have someone take it to a parking lot where I can practice for a few hours before I'll feel more comfortable in my neighborhood - I love living in the city, but it has definitely cramped my practicing over the past few days. Luckily the dealership where I bought it (Greater Boston Motor Sports in Arlington) has been AWESOME. Barry, the manager, took me for a ride on the bike the day it came home, and offered to have someone from the shop take me out again this weekend for a lesson. So hopefully by next week I'll be in better shape.

I do think that the size is fine for me, and I solicited A LOT of advice on this issue before making the purchase. I feel very comfortable with the weight of the bike, and I'm able to bounce it from side to side no problem, thanks to being so tall. It was also interesting to realize that need to use WAAAAY less throttle than I did on the little 250's and 100-somethings that I road in the bike course. So far using the clutch to control the bike's speed seems a lot easier than using the throttle, but I'm sure with more practice it will all be one in the same. I keep telling myself that this is just like learning to play a new video game - I'm not a big gamer or whatever, but I've played my fair share of Mario Brothers, FZero, etc. - at first on a new game the commands feel all awkward and foreign, but after awhile it becomes intuitive. I can't wait until my muscle memory adapts and the bike feels like it's just an extension of me, that's gotta be amazing.
