About me: I'm 27 years old, 5'11", and I live in Davis. I just bought a 2007 BMW F650, and I need some help learning how to ride it! I got my bike license last month, and while I did a-okay in the class, I could really use a few more afternoons in parking lots and industrial parks before I take my new love out on the road. I'd be fine with street practice if I lived in a quiet neighborhood, but my apartment is conveniently located between the death traps of Mass Ave. and Davis Square. I've been waking up at 5:00 a.m. to practice, but even that's not early enough to beat weekday traffic. My choices seem to be between becoming nocturnal or sending out a call for help - I'm going with latter, and maybe I'll make some new friends in the process.

As for background, I'm a second-soon-to-be-third-year attorney at a large Boston firm, a music junkie (electro/techno, indie rock, etc.), and I work out frequently, usually jogging around 4-10 miles or weights. In general I try to take good care of myself. I eat well, I'm not a big drinker (though I played an amazing game of beer pong in college), and I get a lot of sleep. Some of this healthfulness is motivated by having had a (truly) freak near-death experience last year (I am absolutely fine now) - I no longer believe that I'm invincible or that a long healthy life is a birthright, so I try to make the most of what I've got in this moment. That's a large part of why I decided to get the bike.

As for who you are - you should be under 35 and know how to ride a motorcycle. I'm including photos because I figure that guys will be more likely to respond if they aren't afraid that I look like I've already been in a bike accident, but I'd also like to meet women bikers (though just as friends). One photo is from me at work, another is from Halloween when I went as a spring breaker, and the others are of me and my new bike. I realize that this is the "for sale" section, but I figured that this was the best place to reach a bunch of bikers. As for compensation, I'm happy to buy post-lesson drinks.

I first posted the ad in the w4m section of craigslist, and included more background about myself. I trimmed it down for the motorcycle sale section, it didn't occur to me to post there until I'd already posted in w4m. I suppose I should have written a whole new ad, but I was rushing to finish up and I figured that some background could be useful for those who are looking for new friends, not just to give lessons to some anonymous girl.

Btw, I don't mean to rain on the parade here, it's pretty funny to see people discussing my ad - someone emailed me the heads up and said I should join the forum as a new biker. So here I am, hopefully it will prove to be a good place to learn about bikes.
