Thank you, I really appreciate the offer.

If you go by asking price on CL everything is too much.

    Agreed.

True, but there have been many times when i make an offer and people refuse to budge. They also need to be somewhat close. someone isn't going to come down $1500 to meet at a fair price. and its no surprise that those bikes stay on Craigslist for a very long time.

I've seen someone come down $1600 on a $3000 "initial price".

    It takes time, however.

    You can have it good.
You can have it fast (as in quickly).
    You can have it cheap.
    Pick any 2.

That SV looks like it has potential.

I stole the link and forwarded it to a friend.

I hope it works. I suspect actual price is in the 1600 range.

I would start significantly below that and set expectations that it was unimportant to me.

i wont mention price since he is a member here, but i feel like it was fair. While the VFR is an awesome bike it just really wasn't what i was looking for, as a second or third bike, it would be awesome. I talked the VFR guy down to 2200 though if anyone is interested. looks to be in awesome shape. http://nh.craigslist.org/mcy/3781799209.html
