Who wants to help me install SS brake lines?

Hi, got a set of HEL stainless steel brake lines for my newly acquired RC51 and Im wanting to put them on. I can do a few mechanical things (installed PC111USB, CRG levers, and exhaust hangers) but I have no idea how I would bleed the brakes after SS line install. So, come on over, Ill buy the beer and grill the food, bring your tools.....

    Just call me squidly....

    John

Who wants to help me install SS brake lines?

Danviz, eh?? I'd help ya out, but the only thing i do to people from Danviz is Saran Wrap their cars while they're sittin in the Highschool parkin lot

    JK...

it's a super simple process, i'm sure u can find directions on how to do it somewhere on the net. Best part is, u can tell right away if you messed up or not cuz the brakes will be squishy & you wont stop right away

So if ya can't find anyone to give ya a hand, just do a little research & dive right into it. If youre not up to doin that, i'm sure someone will step up & offer some help.

You musta went to 'ole DHS.....I gradumated in '90 and the saran wrap trick wuz around then. Matter of fact there was this girl who had an old MG that 6 of us picked up and moved to the back lot with our hands, she was freaked....

Look like it might rain the whole weekend, so I think Im gunna give it a whirl, but some help would be great...

Bring the kit and brake fluid(2 bottles just in case) to my house tomorrow morning. I'm working on my TLR's stainless lines I just put in last night.

I'll be working on them in the morning if its not raining. I live just under an hour from Danvers.

Dude this is a super simple upgrade.

Here's a link off my CBR forum that i used as a template.

Only thing I did differently was to only use one spacer in between the brake line ends that the banjo bolt goes through (not too sure why that guy used 2).

Only reason I can think of is that the brake line ends were narrower than the stock ends, and the banjo bolts bottomed in the caliper so he may have used and extra crush washer for a spacer.

That's my guess too... I've had to do that before on an install

Super awesome offer, but I work 9-5 SAT and 12-5 SUN this weekend. No chance of me getting out of it either...

Sooner or later I will get this done.

its easy... put the new lines on, but dont attach the bottom or leave them loose. pour some fluid in until it starts coming out the bottom and then tighten them up. top off the resivoir and go watch TV or go to work. after about a 1/2 hour or when you get home top it off again, play with lever to get out excess air and you should be done.
