If you want to be a teenage rider of a ZX10R, you must choose your parents carefully....
I’m guessing dad saved the extra $1,000 for ABS?

I am not a new rider... ive been at it since i was 16, on 3 different bikes. I paid for the zx10r myself with money ive made from my job. I know my limits.

Guys, come on. He's almost 18. I didn't realize he had almost 2 years experience. My bad.
I was just thinking there's a huge difference between an 03 600 and a modern 600, much less a new litre bike. Sounds like you'll be fine though.
A bigger problem is your screen name. I world seems Stoneman a pm to have it changed, stat!

Almost 18 and no drivers license yet? What's up with kids these days and not wanting their license? Growing up in MA, I got the classroom portion of Driver's Ed out of the way before I was 16. The day I turned 16, I got my permits. I turned 16.5 on a weekend when the DMV was closed so I got my license the following Monday.

He has a motorcycle. I don't think I would have cared much about the car either.
I got my car permit and license as soon as I could. But insurance was easily over $1k with a perfect record, and now a single speeding ticket means license suspension, $500 reinstatement fee, and another class. Plus the newly increased insurance rate. Can't have your friends in the car till you're 17 anyway (legally, 6 month permit+6month JOL). And I'm pretty sure you were in the days of 99cent gallons. Oh, and if you have a beater it's still going to need to pass inspection if you want to be legit. It isn't that hard to understand. Sucked the fun right out of it, and then salt on the wound to hear all the old fuckers bitch and moan.
Besides, gixxer....

My daughters, ditto. The oldest is going to the BRC when she gets home from school in June: she wants to ride to graduation. My son has the day he turns 15-1/2 marked in the calendar so he can start driving in NH:
Practice Driving
New Hampshire does not issue learner's permits; however, a person learning to drive (regardless of the State they reside in) is permitted to drive under certain conditions. Persons whose driving privileges are currently suspended or revoked in NH or any other State, may not practice driving.
For the purpose of learning to drive a car, a person who does not possess a valid driver license may practice driving on New Hampshire roadways as long as the below conditions are met:
- The driver must be at least 15½ years old and must carry proof of age in the vehicle.
- The person learning to drive must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or other responsible licensed adult 25 years of age or older.
- The vehicle used for practice must be a non-commercial vehicle.
- The adult accompanying the person who is learning to drive must sit in the front seat of the vehicle and must hold a current, valid driver license.
The accompanying adult shall be liable for any motor vehicle violation committed by the unlicensed driver.
For more information regarding this law, please see RSA 263:25.

Ugh I hate bringing my age and years riding into s conversation, instant disrespect... I have over 40,000 miles under my belt and I'm a winter rider.
Don't worry about, kid. We are just having a little fun.
