Now on the other hand... If you were riding legally and just passed this dude because he was going really slow and it was VERY safe to pass him and you did so in a safe manner... then fight it. Tell the court such and hopefully you have a good record to show the court you are not a squid...

Fight it, and win. I called the cops MANY times for stupid kids RACING over 80miles/hour on our quiet neighborhood street (in what...30 miles zone?? With a SCHOOL) and EACH TIME, the cops had the same fuckin answer for me "Sorry M'am, if we don't witness it happening, there is nothing we can do!" One or two times, I got license plates number, they still didn't do anything.

So what would be the difference here? Who knows, maybe this truck driver just hates motorcycle and just thought it'd be fun to give you guys a hard time, so he decides to call the cops and make a "fake" complain about some dudes passing on solid lines? The point is exactly it, it's his word against yours. If you were riding more than one, then it's his word against a few. The cops didn't witness it, and frankly they SHOULDN'T have given you a ticket!!!

On a side note..."if" you did pass on a solid...it's up to you to decide if your conscience can live with lying about it in court...
