Mmmm. Tasty.
Though I'd be careful if I were that rider. He could lose a lot of change real quick riding like that on those white lines.

goddamn that thing is hot. snub tail ... i'd fix the headlight though.

I'm not a huge fan of the aesthetics, it's ok, but nothing jaw dropping. It has all the potential to be a loudon killer though. Enough zip, a little extra travel, and it looks to be pretty stable with that long swingarm.
Like everyone else, I'm really waiting for the adventurized version. But I'd not trim my nose up at it at all.
And unlike Paul, I can find peace with a Ptwin that puts out. Kawi did a great job with their 650. I expect this has all those attributes plus some of that euro pedigree with better brakes and squishies.
Color me interested.

So what's this do to the Duke 690? I can't see the market position for it between the 790 and 390.

Yes, the M821 is my favorite current Duc.
I think the briskness of the small displacement market is part of the cause of the middleweights moving up. For a long time, heavyweights were mostly around 1000cc, and middleweights 600-650cc, and the lightweight was the EX250. Now the lightweights have blossomed with a variety of bikes from 300cc to 500cc, and the heavyweights have been moving up to 1200cc or 1300cc, so the middle also adjusts to both of these developments by moving to 800cc to 900cc.

i dont know know about a loudon killer unless its just TDs. without knowing the actual displacement (since KTM just makes up numbers anyways), its most certainly too big for LW and not big enough for MW.
i do like it though. when i saw it i had hoped it was a v twin. that would really shorten my pants
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

But for fucks' sake : KTM, stop making movies and start making motorcycles!!! I think the market has been waiting for products with this engine for 3-4 years now.
Swap the SV sisters for one of these and the DL for the same thing in ADV packaging.. go all-orange, all the time. Would work for me.
Just as easy if Yami brought a FZ07 Tenere to market. An FZ for track and a mini-tenere for street. Yeah, that would work too.
Market is looking good these days.
In an interview at EICMA, the KTM guy hints at 110hp, under 11k Euro price tag, and a weight possibly under 160 kg (352 lbs) with a full tank of gas.

After tossing the coin at an SV to make it have the same level of suspension/brakes as this thing, this KTM is right in there as damn competitive.
