Now, I have heard this many times, but riding to work this morning, a good samaritan decided to GET OUT AT A STOP LIGHT TO COME TELL ME WHILE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN.


Uhh, thanks, but its just low beam... both come on with high beam.


I mean, nice guy, but guy out in traffic to walk back to talk to me just cause he thinks I have a headlight out?

Im talking fairly big intersection, 4 lane road, etc.

Happens all the time on my R6 too. Except when the low beam was out at dusk in traffic and the BMW in front of me who alerted me was regretting it as I threw my highs on.

I bought a kit to turn on the high beam 50% on the Tiger during the day. At night it reverts to a single light. Might be available for other bikes.

Before I converted my cbr to dual hi/low projectors is was ready to print cards out so I could just hand them to people to save having to explain it every time I was at a gas station. Something along the lines of "congrats, you are the 10k person to inform me that I have a headlight out when in fact one bulb is the low beam and the other is a high beam"

Yaknow -- it's just people trying to be nice and helpful. There are worse problems to complain about.

On the FZ6, same - one is low, and one is high. The high beam side is actually a H4 high/low bulb and the low beam is just not used. But there's a wire in the wiring harness that was meant to power this low beam bulb, so it's pretty easy to hook it up for dual low beams. But because the reflector is designed for high beam, the light output doesn't help much, but I never got the "you've got a headlight out" comments.

I've since converted to dual high/low projector HIDs.

Not complaining, the guy was super nice, it was just weird and caught me really off guard. The rest of the traffic went and we kinda sat there while he walked down the middle of this main road back to his truck.

I just keep the high beams on during the day cause asymmetry bugs me, and I figure people see me better.
