    Holy crap, they ARE "indistructable"

The funny thing is, how many people have been concerned when they have 3001 miles on an oil change?

    Holy crap, they ARE "indistructable"

So, basically, I can continue to beat the snot out of my FZR1000 and NEVER have to worry about it...

But, I like the idea of treating her like a lady and taking good care of her much better. She rewards me with consistent, solid performance because of how well I maintain her. At least it's good to know how reliable the Japanese motorcycle engines really are.

    That was a good read.

    Holy crap, they ARE "indistructable"

I remember once about 30 years ago trying to blow up a Mopar 170ci slant 6 . it was in a junk ealy 60's plymouth valiant with over 300,000 miles

it was a good running motor
day 1, we drained the water, started motor up, let it run till it seized almost 2 hours
day 2, motor was cooled, we tried starting it, it started right up, we shut it off, drained the oil, then started ut and let it run wit no oil or water, it seized in about 30 minutes
day 3, someone comes in garage looking for slant 6 motor, this was only one we had, we pulled motor, installed it in his car, added oil, water etc, the guy drove the car for at least a whole year (more than 15,000 more miles) that I know of

BTW, there is a video about this.. Same guys! I think I saw it on the discovery channel. It was scary watching it and hearing the engine pinging away at teh rev limiter non stop! You thought for dam sure it was going to blow any second.. When they shut it down they then dumped the oil, fired it up and pegged it to the rev limiter again until the exhuast nearly melted off. They then put oil back in it and ran it to the rev limiter again and let it sit. Freaking amaizing what abuse the bike took and continued to run!
