    Honda Cleaner/Polish Banned!!!

I just found out that Honda cleaner/polish is going to be banned in MA. I called Bettencourts to verify this rumor and its true!

Apparently there are chemicals in the product that the state of MA has now deemed hazardous to the enviornment.

This sucks because it works really well. So what other products are there that work as good as Honda Polish?

    Honda Cleaner/Polish Banned!!!

Who the heck cares.. there is plenty of other stuff that works just as well, costs way less, and is perfectly safe for the environment.

Also googling around apparently Harley Polish is exactly the same product just with a different scent.. see if that is getting banned.

I've had the same can for 3 years i think? I can't remember the last time i used it. Maybe I'll wash the bike tonight, throw some soap on it and put it out in the rain.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

    Honda Cleaner/Polish Banned!!!

It is easy to apply but for example I just put mother's wax on my bike, that definitely has a better shine.

It takes 2x as long as a spray polish but since it is just a bike I could care less, and that stuff goes sooo much further.

For a spray wax I use the Pedro's bike lust stuff from the bicycle shop and it seems to work almost exactly the same as the Honda stuff.

    yep

i agree. Someone here gave a great piece of advice about the honda polish, dont remember who it was. They said to make sure to wash the area first before you use this stuff to avoid getting those tiny swirlys(scratches). I've got those all over my bike because I used too use that stuff alot right after a ride to get the dirt off, thinking that it was (as it says) cleaner/polish. However the stuff works Awesome.

I bet Honda is just going to put it in a pump bottle and then it'll be fine... it's probably just the aerosol that is the problem.

i'd imagine that product is sold under different names..

oh it is no substitute for real wax...but for a quick detailer product it's awesome...

You would have to wash your bike more then once a year to use this stuff. The only time your bike gets washed is at the bikini bike washes and the girls probably bitch when they see your bike and get their little pretty hands all greasy

    Honda Cleaner/Polish Banned!!!

Mass is banning the product because kids are huffing it.
There is some chemical in it that they use to get high.

My wife is a respiratory therapist and she is seeing kids with major organ damage from doing this crap.

There is nothing preventing you from buying it over the internet from some other state.

My bike has never been washed ...

I just go over it once a week with the Honda Polish and clean the chain every Saturday morning. Then I go get it all dirty again.

Ah WTF... stoopid. Friggin druggies, always messing things up.

Maybe if Honda just drops the aerosol they won't be able to huff it.

pledge works awesome as long as the bike is in the house It has no UV protection so it only lasts a day or so out in the sun. I use it on my R7 once a week

I've never used the Honda polish, while it may clean good, it's bad for the paint when used as a cleaner. The worst thing for any paint is to rub it down with a cleaner to get the dirt/bugs/etc off, all you're doing is rubbing all that crap into the paint making swirlmarks and scratches. Plexus does just as good of job at cleaning and damaging the paint

Wash with water, dry with air drier and hand wax using liquid wax (Armorall show&shine liquid wax is good stuff) and a soft cloth, your paint will look good for a long time

    Aint that the truth!

I think you owe me that can... after a good wash it still took me two cans of polish/cleaner and 2 cans of wd-40 to get back down to a clean chain and plastic on that RR!!!!!!

Wait a min, lets think about this for a second. There are dozen's of other products currently on the market that you can get high off of by sniffing. How come the state isn't going to ban those products as well? Doesn't make sense to me.
