That rendering looks great, but it'll probably end up with stupid z radiator shrouds on it too.

Honda would be well advised to build a cool naked around the RC51 engine. Which, of course, means they never will.

    Re: New Honda Hawk GT?

After I saw this picture and once again thinking about what a great bike the Hawk is I wondered, "Hmm, what the heck is Honda making these days to compete with the SV/650R/FZ6?" Then I checked their website. Oh that's right, NOTHING!

Didn't they just recently have some kind of naked 600 four? Kind of amazing to me that Honda is not even marketing a sporty standard in the US. They really do need to bring in something cool like a redone Hawk.

Honda and Yamaha are both really missing out on the small displacement twins market. It's really too bad, because it's a market where you can hook new riders into your brand for lots of return business.

It was the Honda 599 (sold as "Hornet" overseas), sold in the U.S. only in '04 and '06. The '06 model had inverted forks, and few other trim pieces changed from the previous one. I think it had the F3 motor in it (made somewhere around 85 hp at the wheel). But, like most nakeds, it didn't sell well at all. I saw some at dealers that were leftovers two years later.

Has anyone ever done a production bike with a SSSA and spoked rims? That's mighty tasty.
