Cycle World and Motorcyclist both have write ups on this in their current issues...

Honda really did a great job capturing the 'essense' without the bullshit. Hats off to them!

They did a great job considering they are a huge manufacturer, and a have a lot of rules/guidelines to stick too.

    Well done \H/!

Re: Honda Meets W Coast Choppers

Saw this bike at the IMS show, it was rather slick looking. However, it does remind me of a conversation I had back in school when working on a project. Another classmate and I argued if a big name manufacturer producing a chopper model kind of diluted the essence of what a chopper is supposed to be about- hacking apart a stock bike to make a custom/unique one. Considering how far off course 'choppers' are today, it doesn't seem like a slight at all. But for anyone seriously into choppers...why would you buy one off the assembly line like this? Doesn't sort of defeat the purpose? ::rambling over::

Re: Honda Meets W Coast Choppers

    Of course....you're right!

However...CHOICE...is what makes this such a great freeking time to live. If I were inclined to ride something like this I'd be more likely to buy one of these than an OC work. Or any of the other plethera of the ilk. I would rather have something I know will work and that I can have serviced readily.

Clearly I'm not an 'organic' chopper 'type'. If I were I'd do it myself. N'est ce pas?

One word.."RELIABILITY". Can't see spending $30k on something that falls apart going from here to there.

Close. Bill had it right. Underneath it all that is a Honda VTR1000F. the rims are stock and it has one of the most recognizable engines to come out of japan. i think the fact that i brought it up should have been a dead give away.
